Same here. I see them coming online and disconnecting in chat & console, and I can talk to them with the tell_buddy cmd, but when I look at my friend list (on the client or on the website) it appears empty.

I guess I will download League of Legends.

You need to open the port for xmpp thru your firewall or disable firewall. Ql exe is only set up to allow the game port if you don't have friends list.
