Took me a while to realize the shards were the checkpoints lol, and I am somewhat confused by the runner's decision to use weapons just after picking them up, but I guess he was doing it as a "fun challenge" as I gather this isn't a speed run. Also, I understand the intended art direction of the map but it still looks rather ugly and could have truly been made "beautiful". Music was awesome!
It "is" a speedrun. Obviously a lot of the parts can be improved, but he pretty much did everything flawless which makes the run cool, as well as the map.
I wouldn't consider it a flaw as such on a map like this, he didn't fail any major trick is what I'm considering flawless, the few bumps here and there don't matter too much over the span of 6 minutes.
ALSO: The "falling into voids" is part of the run, to put you back to an earlier point, hence making the run faster.
I really enjoy maps like this, and that one huge castle one that had a video posted of it somewhat recently as well. Just seems a lot more interesting to me rather than get from A to B as fast as possible.
I saw it somewhere on mrholydrivers page. I can't recall the name of the map, but I had played it before. It's a gigantic fortress type map and he has to go through several sections of it repeatedly. Cannot recall the name of it for the life of me.
I can't do better. I've seen better defrags (no resets or bumps at edges). Not criticizing any of what I just said regarding the run. Any other problems?
Different and enjoyable.
