The only other tournament that ph4ntom played in has been WCG2001, where the only map he got dominated in was against z4 on pt4, and it was 30 to 10 or something like that, even though that happened, ph4ntom beat All*Aim twice on q3dm6 and pt4 and made it through his group, he then played Prozac and lost in a very close game on t2. He then played rinrin(from korea) and beat him and then played stelam and lost(the second game he was dominated in). But he was nervous against z4, you could see if you compared his All*Aim games to that one, and being his first international tournament, you gotta understand, you dont want to play ZeRo4 in one of your first games(z4 also refused to practise with phantom before their game). After last year, ph4ntom set up his new practise regime and started to prepare for WCG2002 exclusively. He is now ready to play anyone, and I think the only players that will be able to stand up to him will be the russians. He is way above the rest of the South Africans, with everyone else being about the same level. Close games he's had(well, not close, but almost close) has been against Undead, Balki, Shadowlord, m0nkeypuke(he posts under m00p), Azul. (Im trying to popularize SA q3 players) I've probably failed to mention some other really great SA players but as I said, ph4ntom is ahead of the rest of us, and the next top 15 or so are quite equal. Also you might want to know what style we play? well, the way most of us practise is by watching demos, and them being mostly russian :). but it will be interesting, I just hope ph4ntoms nerves hold, he knows that the whole gaming community is watching him now.

what a whiny bunch of kids those US players are. I suggest they use theyr time to practise the game instead of making some protest. Everyone had the same chances when games started, you dont even deserve to qualify if you leave it up to some other guy and hope his gonna win. Wcg should have rules about these things, and also i think USA team should pay something like 5000$ to make protest. (of course they would get refund if they had reason and proof but would lost it if it was just angry, bitter kids trying to make someone look bad, like in this case)

Sounds like you have more hang ups against 'Americans' than logic. Do you think if an American cheated, a Russian player should have to pay $5000 to appeal? No, of course not, you, like most of the rest of the world, just have an exception-is-the-rule preconception that all Americans are big, rich, whiny crybabies.

in powerful machines, or powerful graphic cards, you "float" more on the map... this is because of the fps, the higher fps you have, the more you "fly", and it´s like having g_gravity changed, but is the quake 3 engine, that sucks at this matter... for example, the rocket-rail jump on dm6 it´s harder to do with less than 125 fps

But do you think that q3 players were playing with gravity 800 and speed 320 (defaults)??? I don´t think so... just watch those demos...

that is absolutly normal gameplay as far as I can see...
