i've been recognized at a club due to my leet cs skillz and i was flattered. as long as you keep the conversation normal and don't condescend yourself, it's not gonna be awkward.

I've had a few people recognise the beanie from commentary during my travels around the UK and I'm not even awesome! It's not really awkward, pretty cool that gaming brings random people together.

like I said over the years I have been in the Quake scene, my general impression has been that Fazz is a really chill nice guy. My point was simply stating that he was a middle tier player in relation to other players in Sweden/Europe.

I would rank these players (in no particular order) as being as good if not alot better in either tdm/duel


prozac (one of the most entertaining players and so good w/out really trying) - watch some of his tdm demos with his crew from *QPO

zamuz (not even close here in terms of skill/aim/movement)

belth (cant remember if this was an alias of someone but his LG was what dreams were made of back in the day)

fox (great at tdm - seemed to underachieve in duel but super skill nonetheless)

blue (responsible for one of the best frags ever in quake's history)

purri (id say fazz was a better dueler in q3 at least - but purri has it in tdm)

toxic (most don't realize how good he was in tdm as well)

lakerman (legend)

gopher (toxic's bro and great tdm player) along

all of QPO (Quad People's Organization)

I usually don't get other ppl involved into my gaming hobby, especially not girls. It happend once, I was going out on a date, and a quaker dude recognized me at the cinema. I was like: Oh no!:D His first thing was to ask me: "Hey dash, are you still shooting?!" It was a bit awkward, the girl had that WTF look on her face. I lied to the dude: Not really, and tried to get rid of him...:D After that she was asking me: Shooting?! dash?!:D I replied, we'been clay pigeon shooting together with that guy, when we were young, so I survived the situation, and din't have to explain this to her... First time they're always like: Are you 12 or what?!:D You made me to remember this fun date... (and yes, I nailed her...)

Initial reaction like that is understandable as gaming isn't exactly viewed as a masculine activity but if you think about it a bit deeper than you should realize that wanting to cover up for a hobby you enjoy is even more ridiculous.

The only thing you should care about as a guy is being able to stand up for yourself and taking care of your family if you have one. Other than that no fucks should giving about what people think about you and how you chose to spend your time.

There is one exception however. If you have 20000+ jumbo sized posts on a website where you go apeshit every time someone jabs you with a one liner then you probably shouldn't share that information with a girl or any other human being for that matter.
