Number four is here! The FACEIT Winter Season is in full swing, with

Cypher and

evil battling it out for the top place thus far.

As each Sunday, we are starting at 09:00 CDT. You can already sign-up now!

Daniel "ddk" Kapadia will be bringing all the action to you on

FACEIT TV, starting live at 09:30 CDT. This Sunday he is accompanied by

Alessandro "stermy" Avallone!

The FACEIT Winter Season will be played each Sunday for the coming months, where 128 players can join and play for $125, as well as points to qualify them for the Finale.

turned out to be a problem after all...
cuz of some stubborn admin who said 'no' to fraze while there had been a well-known precedent of saying 'yes' to av3k
even strategically you would win additional thousand viewers if not so rigid in rules

It's not about rules (well, also).. The issue would be:
1) The system is automated, so we need one of the developers to manually fill him in in the bracket, which is a pain in the ass
2) Seedings would be messed up

Affirmative. Any of the twitch reencodes (i.e. any stream quality except "source" or "best" or what it is) amounts to a frigging slide show these days. Using livestreamer/vlc with 5 sec buffer (file-caching 5000) here, and the "low" quality stream is pretty much intolerable, "medium" even worse.

This sounds like what used to occasionally happen to me at uni, and the problem was not on twitch's side, but rather uni firewall/port blocking. Maybe you've already done all the troubleshooting on your end and my post is moot, but if not check your firewall etc.

GG WP today. Things were more interesting thanks to Ash having a good match against Evil and with the latter beating Cypher in finals. I hope this will keep on going in that direction (I find it more interesting when things are more unpredictable), I really want someone like Sting to win a FaceIt cup again.

since about two weeks I have big problems loading the vods on twitch. It takes ages to load, and when it does, it stops after a few seconds. Before I could just jump to any time without a problem.
WTF? I rarely watch the cup live, so I really rely on the vod to catch up the day after.
FIX THIS PLS!

that being said, great to read evil won :D

edit: no problems on lvl^ vod, enjoying some tdm instead =)

Copy vod URL, get links there, feed them to your favorite multithreaded downloader, watch flv in vlc or something. Sadly, that's the only way for me too. 900kb/s download using one thread, 7Mb/s download with eight threads.

How the hell can you put two calculated players with calculated everything and by that I mean frags ,items ,map control in front of a guy that pull frags with 100 healt vs 200 200 stack ?
Those two are working quakers and Cypher is a true talent never playing by roules , you cant fucking beat that !!!!! Would vote for Cypher anyday!!!!

Very nice finals.
Cypher mostly tried two or three things and hoped to get away with those without Evil adapting, it didn't happen.
He tried to:
1) Abuse the rail out of control, as Evil's style of play (aggressivly going around) is prone to good railing. We saw that against k1llsen repeadetly.
2) avoid 100 or 150 hp\armor lg fights, expecially after an Evil's spawn.
3) be cypher defensivly on pushes.

Sadly he got outplayed by Evil after a while, when he figured that Cypher was going for a peek rail from the very next angle every single time.
And Evil played way better on RAs, expecially when red and mega were spawning together both on cure and t7. Well played.

Cypher showed very little patience.

obviously dm13 was different from the other maps because no railgun.. Anyway the game was won by the guy who forced less stupid fights. I don't get it, Cypher was willing to take 3 or 4 fights were he had more than 100 armore less than evil, and indeed came up dying. Evil took one of those as well.
