Yea, it's close to impossible to enjoy watching mobas if you don't play them because you don't understand anything of what is going on.
I would have liked it better if zoto started streaming cs:go but I guess long term dota2 is the better choice.

I thought Id be able to appreciate watching dota after I started playing it but its still incredibly boring.

Well I don't find it hard following LoL but thats cos dota2 is littered with graphics and clealy is not made for spectating.

Why does every player have a seperate colour on the minimap?
Why are the heroes displayed so small on screen (zoomed out too far)?
Why aren't there clear colours deviding team A and B so it's easy to see who's in which team?

1. so you know who is where?
2. huh? zoom in then..
3. those colors you mentioned in first question are always the same.. so after couple of games, you are perfectly able to tell who is who.. also the teams are clearly divided by the icon (circle for the radiant, cross for the dire)

Dota2 clearly is less noob friendly than LoL, both to watch without playing it first and also to start playing.

It isn't that bad though. Problem is solved if zoto explains the game, champions, mechanics and meta to his current quake viewerbase.

Who is hating here? I used to play lol (dark times in my life) before but the game gets rather stale after a while.

I do play Dota 2 from time to time (probably because I used to play DotA in W3 ~9 years ago), but I never could enjoy LoL games.. and I watched plenty of them. My guess is that I'm just used to Dota 2 (just like LoL fans are used to LoL).

Anyway.. saying that Dota 2 copied something from LoL sounds funny.. considering that LoL is DotA clone. Also it's nothing new, that games similar to each other copy that kind of stuff.. almost every industry works like that.

You may change the team/individual colours ingame(if you watch it via dota2tv) but individual are much better once you know which are on what team

Isn't the 2GD studio kinda down nowdays? I don't really follow but there was that video with not enough money and cooperating with DH blabla then last time I saw 2GD streaming dota2 (esr sidebox) and he had like 800 viewers, which is really low.

I might be completely wrong and got the wrong impression, I don't really follow 2GD nowdays as there is no quake (and the 1 reborn news/year gets posted here anyway)

Same happens with ddk (20 viewers). They get the numbers when they are on the known stream, not their personal if that's not their popular one.

i think they were discontinued outside of working with dh, but their production has raised the bar for dota2 coverage by miles. i think gd studio had almost everyone in their team covering the international, and dreamleagues production is my favorite production to date.

if you wanna call them a fiasco for not being continued as they were, i get can get that, but to say they are a fiasco for not covering quake is just stupid

Don't worry, it was just a gross exaggeration and not meant seriously. I like their coverages, even though I don't like DOTA. They could show a little more quake though.

Anyhow as megaman explained they're still doing well, I just asked simply if the numbers are low for them or not as (wrongly, as it seems) I got the impression they're not doing as good as they started.

Personally I'd like to see quake instead of dota, as I played the first one way too much for one lifetime.
