Are you planning on having more streamers covering your tournaments away from the main stream via that, and only that? I assume ddk is using it as he won't have the support of the production team this week, but is this also a plan to reach out to other people that may take an interest in covering additional games weekly, some of the 'lesser' games that are not on the main stream perhaps? The choice of channel name is rather confusing that's all.

The channel is meant for more community orientated streaming, such as Points Cups and Community Nights for CS. We run the QL stream on it this week as we have a LoL tournament going on over the weekend on FACEIT TV.

Anyone interested in streaming our cups can always contact me here / IRC. Then we can potentially add you to the FACEIT group, so you will still be able to use your own channel to stream.

The plan was always for faceit to add games, they will have two streams so lolers watch lol and quakers watch quake.

If anything, this can only be a good thing for faceit and Quake in general. Sadly, faceit supports Quake and not the other way around.
If faceit integrates itself in some plebian cashcow like LoL, and makes enough money to continue to support Quake and foster interest and competition in the Quake community then we all win.

Have to say that I'm pretty happy faceit is growing and going into LoL even if that means that we get to watch the Sunday cup on a different stream and a different setup than the studio. More interest in faceit tournaments = more tournaments all around. Maybe a bigger prize pool for the QL cup as well. Who knows... :)

I have always missed a few things on the QL stream, that u might actually see atm at the LoL stream (I ain't watching, but I there usually are these kind of things), the most important of these is imo:

- Prematch introduction of players, like with previous meetups, stats, most maps played, a picture (!) and such - maybe just like the little overlay GDstudio had, just something to show viewers who are behind nickname Tutaeutie (Yeah... that's what it might look like to RandomBobJensen).
* ok just rewatched their quake arena vod, their hud wasnt all I wanted - but it's a start I guess - if , and a picture of the player would be quite easy to fix since you could just make it a requirement :P

Maybes:
- Post and pre match interviews everynowandthen - I know there are some, but considering how easy it could be, why not a few more.

Maybe no matches from BO64, start at bo32 and then make final even longer? I know its some times fun to watch bo64, but tbh most of the times it isnt fun at all. But I guess I could just turn in later, if say Bo16 or Bo32 was scheduled to start at XX o clock, maybe this would work.

At least I think these are things that can be done pretty easily.

Some guy mentioned letting faceit staff pick maps, I say why not try it for a cup or two, and then ask players how they feel and make a viewer pool or something :)

I strongly agree about the overlays, player interviews and stats.

I don't agree about making viewer map pools and making the show go on for more hours though.

I actually didnt want to make the show longer :)

Also it was supposed to be faceit staff that decided the maps, not the viewers - but come to think of it, I kind of don't like it that much my self anymore, because then it would not be as fair as it is today, I guess.

Had problems too until i installed the new livestreamer (1.73) which has an increased ringbuffer size. Also I use VLC with --file-caching=5000 (C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\livestreamer\livestreamerrc -> You just need to remove the '#' before the line).

Smooth like a child's butt now. And I'm actually one of the guys for who the stream has never really been without lags.

? the ping difference is less, one doesnt have a super amazing ping whilst the other has a bad ping (35). 40 vs 50 atleast they both have bad pings.. also note how cypher won when they played on de, but got bashed when it was on russia

Before they brought out NZ servers, I predicted that the top tier NZ players would struggle with less than 30 ping. Told them that, and they all went apeshit denying it and calling me 'all ping', standard sorta fare. Now look at them. Dox will actually admit that his LG is rubbish on 10ping. True4m is even worse with rockets on 5 ping than he is on 30. Traits is garbage on both. I gotta admit Cerno_ played alright on it in that duel comp.
Same as what Hate said, he very publicly ranted about preferring 35 ping to 20 because of the added hitscan damage. ( yeah yeah CA yeah yeah ), but I have to laugh about it all, because what always happens is everyone laughs and tries to tell me I'm wrong, but in the end they always come around to seeing it my way hehehehehe.

Edit: 50+ ping is all round shitty, but the lower your ping is, the more unpleasant playing against high pingers is in general for different reasons. If you're sub 20, and duelling someone above 50 ping, then you're going to see some stupid shit start happening on both ends.

Man, that hurts pretty bad... just look 5 posts before... there are no spoilers in my links :). (just don't look at the right of the screen though, focus on the VODs)

lol agent vs evil goes exactly how you would expect all the time.
It's like the elder beating his lil brother, they both know who's in charge. Evil is just very relaxed and doesn't even care to impose his presence on the map as he knows every fight is a good fight for him. He's so into Agent's mind.

This reminded me of a zotac cup an age ago, agent was doing is usual camp the top GA on silence. After one minute Evil figured out wht was going on and just manhandled him.. You could actually see the difference in Agent's confidence plummeting into a scared rabbit afraid to even peak for a rail shot.

And that change of confiidence is still there. Look at how Agent set up his shots vs Fraze (such a strange match btw) and how in the same exact situations on ztn he went for the pussy random rocket and flee from the room before evil could see him... Hilarious

A game with 50 ping vs 50 ping is a lot different than 5 vs 10, u can afford to do riskier things i guess, cause in general if u hit ya rail, u do well, where as on lower ping quite often u hit your rail and then u still take too much dmg for it to be worth it

anyway can you go on on the matter of how ping influenced these games in particular

7 am u mean! and yeah ive got no idea, definately not a usual time for me to wake up :P Well what im saying is, if a guy plays the run and rail game, generaly as the guy getting railed u will get small windows of opportunity to try and get in close and do damage, but u need to do it quickly or else the opponent gets away to another rail angle, like through a tele or round a corner. Quite often when they do this and u do even like 40 dmg, then its not worth it for the guy who is railing because he will now get 0 items and probably have his 100 50 stack reduced to just 100 hp. However if u dont utilize the small windows u get then it works really well and the guy gets away and builds his stack to 100 100 etc and then goes from there. But when u have 50 ping its very difficult to do that quick damage or even actually hurt the guy who is just trying to rail you, if u get close with rl, chances are ur gonna miss them all, and ur lg doesnt lock and hit quickly, and rails are harder to hit etc etc, where as when a guy has 5 ping he can hurt u very quickly naturally, so going for such shots generally results in u being the one to either take the initial damage, or even die because they can snap to you very quickly. Especially with evils lg who can get u round corners hehehe Now i played pretty badly anyway, BUT the way in which i lost wouldnt happen if it was a low ping match, cause if the game panned out similarly, then given small windows id do the necessary damage required to still continue to pile on frags, or so I think anyway.. Also with regards to the cypher evil games, ping also plays a part there but for differennt reasons..

If you actually cared to impose some structure on the things you say by connecting things, finishing your thoughts and putting appropriate emphasis on what's important -- you'd be a great caster.

hehe well finishing my thoughts can be tough to do in time without pushing pause on the duel hehe and yeah i dont cast very much tbh so im sure with more practice i could be much better :P but id rather play than cast, unlike zoot and ddk etc, so my improvement will be slow

lol the finals looked so casual, Evil won dm13 out of his amazing wh-like talent infight. The situation on RA were he just stood there for 30 seconds and won the situation with plasma spam and some lg -> omg. Even if he made some noobish mistakes like everything is spawning and he goes for red? Da fek.

ZTN and cure he just played really solid when the control wasn't really clear. It's funny that on ztn he managed to get the first frag but it was that funny situation when who gets the frag has the worse end because he won't do anything against the opponent off the spawn.. But he drove his way back in control and it looked so easily.

Not sure what Cypher was trying to do to counter this style, he just looked passive and a bit detached from the game to me... Really cannot tell lol. GGS

5 ping vs 35 ping is kind of hard. evil was out-lging cypher heavily. One thing about evils lg is that he seems to hit the last bit of lg through whatever ledge/wall edge etc. people seem to take huge damage when they peek out. This thing was only exacerbated by the ping difference.

I'm very impressed with the way Evil has been playing these past couple of weeks. I agree with Fraze that Cypher hasn't been hitting his tournament form clutch shots lately but Evil has done a nice job of countering Cypher's ambushes as well as spamming the angles Cypher usually takes long range. I think Evil made definite adjustments to compete with Cypher and hopefully Cypher will take some time to watch the demos and adjust his game. If he does then the next time they [play should be really fun to watch.
