Okay, so there's currently 23 people on the list to play tomorrow, and there's still space to fill - it doesn't have to be 32 players anyway. Even if you consider yourself an average player of FFA in Europe, then join for some fun. Hopefully, everyone remembers to join at 13:00 CST on the #KingsOfFFA channel on quakenet.org - it's empty now but will be active tomorrow. Muckyman should be running a premium server tonight hosting the maps being played tomorrow, so if anyone wants some practice before hand, then play tonight as well. DSharp3 will be doing the stream and MuckyMan will be hosting one of the servers for the groups stage, many thanks to them both. To the guys who asked if they could be in the tournament from the US, thanks but unfortunately your pings would be too high(100+) and I'm trying to avoid as much warp as possible. Should be a lot of fun =)

So I've been thinking about setting up an FFA tournament for some time, I know clan FFA and Fi used to organise these but sadly they're gone.

I want 32 players to sign up who will be split up into 2 groups by random selection. 4 games will be played by each group. The best 8 of each group will then be combined to form the finals group. The finals group will play 4 games to determine the overall winners of the tournament.
Three premium servers will be setup, one for group 1, another for group 2 and the 3rd for the finals group. The location of the servers will be DE - I've had several requests for this change, so hopefully this doesn't make everyone else buttmad

The tournament will start at 13:00 CST time on Sunday the 2nd of February.

Add me ( StitchYourAss) as a friend via the quake standalone. I'll create an IRC channel called #KingsOfFFA which you can join(go to quakenet.org). This way you can stay in the loop of what's happening as the tournament is taking place. You will be provided with a link to the server you should join i.e. if you're in group 1 you'll be linked to the group 1 server. This link will be provided via a private message in IRC, if you really don't want to use IRC, I can message you the link via Quake Live instead.

General Rules
You have to record all of the demos as you play in the tournament. These may be used to make a possible video for fun/promo, as well as verification of no dirty hacks being used. If you're asked to provide a demo and can't, this could result in you being disqualified.

Scoring
Your placement in the tournament is determined by points as follows.
1st place is 1600 points, 2nd is 1500 points, 3rd is 1400 points, ... etc. When each group finishes their games, the 8 players with highest amount of points will be chosen to go into the finals. The best 3 from the finals stage with the highest amount of points from the finals games will be the overall winners. If 2 or more players are tied at the same number of points, then it will go on number of kills, if kills are equal, then damage delivered.

Results
After each group has finished playing their 4 games, there will be a slight pause for approximately 30 minutes as the results of the best 8 are tallied. The best 8 from each stage will be announced over IRC and will go into the finals group. After the finals group has finished playing their 4 games, the results will be tallied again, and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be announced (over the IRC channel and the quake forum).
