Previously I stated that you had to have played in the Community Games at least once before. I have decided against enforcing this rule. This means ANYONE CAN SIGN-UP TO PLAY. (so long as you're under 1400 ELO and have an account older than 1 week)

If you guys are catering to new players you should consider checking peoples played time aswell as their peak elo.

tons of people with sub 1400 elo that shouldnt be playing these cups imho :)

I guess I can fit into that description, but on the other hand I am neither consistent nor skilled after playing for 10+ days total. And a guy with 5 hours played can be a godlike Q3A player :)

Well the issue is people dropping games while they clearly are better then their elo would suggest.
I would put myself into that catagegory as i throw alot of games.

While im not a superstar i am capable of beating people well above my current elo and i dont see how someone with 18+ years of experience playing quake is a fair match against someone new.

regardless if i win or not. :)

I can hardly think of such an experienced player with <1500 ELO, only if he deliberately loses games to shake off some ELO/Tiers. If by dropping you meant not playing at full capacity (that's my case for sure), then it's a matter of mind set for the game which is a part of skill. I often can't play properly not because I am lazy, but tired as hell after working day.

I could hardly think of someone with the same experience would resort to cheating, yet there have been incidents of that happening.
