Anyway, you didn't specify you liked them for nostalgical reasons and you don't consider them the ones that did "the greatest album ever". No, you are all over the place pretending their songs are better than how they are.

Tastes are tastes and aren't disputable, but greatness, skills and importance of the bands can be discussed, and Nirvana weren't much more than a boy band.
In fact, there are boy bands that influenced musical genres more and are less idolatrated.

As someone else pointed out, if the sexy and charismatic leader of the band hadn't blow up his head in such dramatic fashion, they probably wouldn't be discussed much more than the others one hit wonders and nostalgical affects from the '90s.
