I mostly agree, but I still don't understand why people actually type so much while raging. It just seems so unnatural. When I rage myself I usually utter unarticulated noises and once I actually threw my copy of "The Buddenbrooks" (That book is quite heavy, luckily no one was hurt), but my rage never actually made its way through the keyboard into the chatbox. The only explanation I have for that is just deliberate smacktalk to throw your opponent off, but that's not just rage, is it? Obviously this kind of 'tactical swearing' isn't really a big deal either, if the person addressed manages to look through it.

Maybe Canadian Criminal Law is different, discriminating against other nationalities, or maybe there's some special law for death threats made in-game? The motive, over here, is totally irrelevant. It must be shown that the threat was made to intimidate or simply to be taken seriously. I have no idea what you're referring to with your "discriminating against other nationalities". There is no special case for threats made in-game; that's not what I meant with this "especially". In other words, there is no special permission to threaten others in this context : the same laws apply. This is what I'm on about. The context will be taken into account but it does not excuse everything.

Raging like that will only screw up your own concentration. So really.. it's a lose-lose situation.. no reason to bring up your real life frustrations in to a game.
Even if you do win by throwing off your opponent with flaming.. at the end of the day.. what did you achieve? won a match in a GAME and pissed off a REAL person?

Personally i play games for my own entertainment not for some virtual points that have absolutely no meaning. Having to deal with raging kids in a game is not exactly what i would consider as being fun. I find it much more enjoyable where a good frag is recognized and praised upon and not followed by multiple lines of hate and envy.

But i guess some people enjoy screaming matches with one another filled with blind rage..

so, basically, serious trying to play without aim assist and getting only 38% lg and almost losing. Then see that he can't beat him consistently without putting a lot of effort and focus on his clean-without-aim-assist-aim.

then starting to rage hard because his goal/dream in quake, being remembered as THE best, youngest and undefeated player, get destroyed, becomes unreachable without A LOT of fucking practice (and as you already know, he said he doesn't give a fuck about quake and prefers playing guitar or doing more productive things, which is probably a lie because, like i said, he wants that people remember him as a quake legend).

then he remembers that to achieve this dream/goal (that he wants to reach at ANY cost, even being an uncaught cheater), you can use aim-assist, it's the most risky way but also the easiest and fastest.

then, bam! He turns his aim-assist back on and start hitting 45%+ again. Then feel much more comfortable and beats him quite easily.

or maybe it's just that he's young and impulsive and can't stand a loss. And is pissed about the community's reaction regarding whether he's legit or not. And he also probably needed some warmup before being at his full potential again (45%+ LG).

so, the question remains, is he just a young, impulsive but also very talented quake player OR just a very smart cheater ?

Of course anyone would turn their cheat down a notch (or completely) when deliberately being specced. Not always and not consistently, but of course they would. Especially after telling them 'I'm gonna spec you'.

Otherwise, according to your logic, people would either 'always full hack' or 'never hack' (and nothing in between) - because people could Wolfcam him (or any other cheater) in any 1v1 he's ever played. And also in many other games with any amount of players...

Guys just stop, I even played vs him when sync was on the server and hitting +46 LG. I acted like a spoiled brat which is not something unusual for a kid my age but I'm not always like that, I got what I deserved which is a 2 week ban (I deserve a month at least), sorry for being an asshole.
