I'm pretty sure that it isn't part of the hud, so unless a crosshairnames_x or y is implemented there is no way.

Just bind it in a way, that when you shoot its cg_drawcrosshairnames 0, and when u don't shoot its set to 1.

I might do that for rail and have it always on for gaunt, but it will still be distracting for lg I think. Thanks

maybe this: change position of ur crosshair with cg_crosshairx / y
then make crosshairsize 0
use custom crosshair 4 aim

It's a brilliant idea, but unfortunately doesn't work :-/

the crosshairnames message appears in the same spot regarldess of crosshairx/y :-/

it also depends on the font you've set in your hud so you could make it smaller if it's really that distracting for you
on the other hand i never found it bad, sometimes it lets you see behind the corners and stuff when you dont even see the model, and since it's static it's not really moving around when you shoot, so dunno why you find it annoying
