videos like this always bother me

as a defrager, christ i just want to see the run. its like showing mid-air rockets from third person and never showing it in first

maybe it's the defrager in me but I don't want videos like this where you slow down, speed up, third person, etc.

i dont care how boring you think it is, let me see the run in it's glory. not some espn alternative camera replay shit

I enjoy viewing both the passion for editing as well as the passion shown in 1st person to get there damned quick.

A mix of both in a movie = profit for harosh.

This is a teaser. The full movie may not be in this style, but this does do a good job for a teaser IMO.

I do concur, though. The only exception would be Stunner3, which has literally no first-person footage, and yet it's a brilliant movie. Hell, it's brilliant because there's no first-person footage, and it still works really well.

The full movie has definitely more first person shots, no worries there.
A big advantage about third person and slowmo cams is that they help the viewer to orientate himself in the map, and sometimes to clarify what the player is actually doing or where he is going, e.g. in a plasma only map where the player is only directed towards the wall.

if the maze logo was supposed to cover the wall the guy was plazma-climbing on, than the angle was not quite right :s

Perhaps include the run demos used in the movie in the pack? I'm inclined to agree with moto1 on this; while 3rd person and slo-mo can give you a unique perspective, it shouldn't be used in the place of first person, just as an extra.

That said, this was a trailer so its purpose is to be cinematic. Looks good, can't wait!

maze taught me the basics of movement, and i consider him like a mentor. a really cool guy, always helpful :)

maze can always come up with unique routes, but doesn't seem to perfect the runs... many of his runs have minor flaws which can be avoided easily, making the result much slower than expected. would like to see more weird ways to finish classic maps though:)
