you can just leave mouse1/2 unbound and use space to jump and shift to fire. I've tried this method before and it can be done without any difficulty.

I personally don't think you should try conventional ergonomic mice if RSI is a severe issue (which sounds like carpal tunnel is a risk for you). I don't think it's worth the risk of your body. Try these vertical mice with real ergonomics: http://www.evoluent.com/

Yeah well, if you are forced to switch mice solely because of _severe_ RSI you might be thinking about changing something more drastically then just using any other mouse. Just saying.

I don't have RSI specifically, however I do have a treatable (through laser therapy and other methods) form of it, the name of which I can't think of right now. It still hurts a lot sometimes. Just easier to keep things simple on the internet :)

I appreciate the feedback and suggestions, I am going to order a DA 2013 (only version of the mouse I can find around here) to try as a replacement for my IME.

I am also going to order one of those Evoluent mice to at least try out on my secondary PC that I do the rest of my gaming on (non quake), will hopefully help cut the wrist/hand etc fatigue down when I am playing other games.

g400 has a nice light click, ec1 isn't bad but a bit harder and longer travel.
