i know what you mean, they do give the link on esreality on where it will be streamed but, not many people see it because its not clear. http://www.twitch.tv/faceittv should just stream 1 game, which i hope is quake, and when faceit go to the basement room or wherever they guy the audio and quality of the stream is horrible, as LOL/CSGO is taking up all the internet.

Changing streams urls is the death of viewership. They should announce what stream they will every single time from now on. Nobody wants to play Sherlock Holmes every single time to find the correct stream.

Frankly I'm thankful for having a quake sunday cup at all.
I just hope they make shitloads of revenue on other games and keep quake afloat out of pity.

I'm pretty sure stermy said it was owned by some other guy in an interview, even though he is a co-founder and plays an important role in the decision-making and what not, he isn't the owner.

Sorry for the chaos and channel switching in recent weeks. We have moved to a London studio (instead of our Milan one), which took some time, as well as Easter coming in the middle of it.

So, FACEITtv is used for streaming from our studio. As we have a partnership with Twitch, we want to push out quality content from this channel, so we cannot use anything but the studio from this channel. We generally do not have any other events planned on Sundays, but Quake. So Quake Live will be from the studio, unless we have another event popping up (like our LoL Invitational which we host once every so many months).

FACEITCommunity is for the more community style productions, so not from a studio, with webcams, Skype calls, etc. We'll use this for any production when the studio is not available.

Now, we have launched a CS League, which will run on Wednesdays and Thursdays, so this is nothing for QL to worry about. Last Sunday we had a qualifier for it, which is why Quake had to be moved to GroundZero.

Some people asked why we cannot make different channels for different games.
A) scheduling is usually not an issue.
B) We want gamers from different games to come together. We have seen so many non-Quakers tune into our Quake streams, and so many Quakers tune into our CS streams.

Will the FACEITCommunity become as "important" as FACEITtv soon ? Will both have the same (or almost) quality of production?

I mean, is that your project to make them sort of equal in term of quality of production? Since you totally moved in a new studio I suppose it's possible in a near future, no?

FACEITCommunity will remain (for the foreseeable future) for more "casual" shows, with a lower production quality. Unfortunately we do not have the manpower at the moment to run multiple studios.

If I may ask, are you permanently leaving Italy and the Milan studio? I'm guessing it has something to do with the business side of things, nobody in their right mind would try to start a business in italy nowadays, always wondered why faceit did it. But yeah, I liked the idea of having the studio just one hour of train away from me, I'm gonna miss that in a way. I wish you best of luck

Internet in Milan its not a problem, the only italian city with FTTH (Fiber to the Home) so you can easily have symmetric 100/100

You want gamers to come together, but i (as a quaker) don't want email notifications about when counter strike is going live. Your mission is very world peace and all, but the users should, in the end, choose what they want to follow.

And the scheduling already proved to indeed be an issue, you cannot defend that point by argue anymore.

Every single twitch stream that i follow has different games played on it all the time. Usually there is a main game that is played because they like it, but they do venture off and play different games as well. Think of it that way for FaceitTV also.

In the past it has helped Quake a lot for non-Quakers to tune into our stream. How many "oh cool, I played Quake 3 back in 1999", or "what game is this, it looks cool!" have we seen in the past? At the end of the day, it's your choice to follow us (or enable email notifications), not ours.

As for scheduling, I had already explained why this happened in the previous post. I don't think we'll be moving any time soon, so until then QL will be on FACEITtv, or if we have another event, on FACEITCommunity.

Someone said Dreamhack dropped Quake even for winter, this is definitive then? Any chance of them putting it back on with a purely donations driven prize pool? Maybe people could start donating now and they will have it on DH winter? :((

It just seems silly to me EU doesnt have LAN anymore when US has QCon, I mean Quake is supposedly much more popular in EU? Also there's no other 1vs1 fps that has taken Quakes place at DH yet, so there should be a slot (okay im grasping for straws at this point)

Unlike Faceit, DH is making smart decisions that will ensure their company stays afloat. Anyone putting any time, effort or money into quake should be questioned for their sanity at this point. As much as i'd like to see duel played at DH Winter, i totally understand why they dropped it. Roychez will come to the same conclusion once he sees the increase in revenue from CS. The quake community is just too small now.

We never expected any revenue from Quake in the first place.. Not everything has to be about money. Heck, why would we be in esports if it was.
