something is probably wrong with your game/rig. the general consensus is that it runs well and at pretty high fps. movement is great with the lighter classes for me, nicely paced when coming from quake :3

most fun i've had with a new fps game in years. seems like they learned from brink's mistakes and went back to the roots. cautiously optimistic for the full version.

Someone sent me a key (many thanks, not sure if you want your name here to avoid getting pestered for more keys).

First impression, it's okay but it probably won't hook me. It's more of a casual thing. Pretty fast paced though, but no bhop. It's not Quake-like.

SD have been making the same game for the past 10 years. the advantage there is that they are getting pretty good at it but on the other hand, theres nothing new here really. for a game in alpha/beta though, its very stable, the assets are good and the gameplay works. I hope that they are able to make an impact on the FPS scene but I'm not sure if such a game can retain a large casual audience...

etqw = fun for a while, vehicles suck and destroy balance, casual players didnt understand the asyncronic gameplay back then, evidence that id tech 4 can be fun in multiplayer, was nice to meet other playscenes in the game like battlefielders

brink = bad console gamedesign / pc version is no fun (btw i had a strange bug where couldnt join the most servers), really nice unique artwork, step out of the shadow of id software

I haven't played it yet but I'm all out of enthusiasm for new FPS games. It's all the same walk-around-and-spray-your-machine-gun boring shit that everyone gets a boner for for about a month and then you never hear about it again. No one does anything cool and creative.

I'd be more interested to see if people here are still playing this in a few months than I am about what people think of it their first time playing it.

played it for several months and i really liked it, until some shitty patch came along which made the game untweakable and i couldn't see shit anymore. havent touched it since

you should definitely try it again, now you even can tweak the .ini and use the console.

i actually did try it again a few days ago, been playing every day since, its nice again :p

there is no friend system yet as far as i know, all you can do atm is join the same server through the built-in browser.

Sadly, games which are "OK" are also "very good" because there is nothing new and better currently :/

Its a nicely made game, I just dont like what was made if that makes sense. But yeah, better than UT movement.

-movement will be improved and I heard some people know how to do triple jumps in some places ;p

no like I said, for what its trying to create its doing a good job and it looks like people will really like it, its just that playing this game made me realise how much I dont want to play games like that much anymore

the only reason I play counter strike is because of the excellent matchmaking and ranking systems. I dont even like the gameplay that much
