This. It's a huge advantage to be good with plasma and shotgun, because they are used to fuck shit up for your opponent. Evil often rushes off spawn with plasma and deals insane amounts of damage. It's one of the keys to his game. It can be a real gamechanger.

You can do a lot of crazy dmg shit with the plasma gun.

it accounts for the lions share of damage for most players due to how lethal it is. you're at a massive disadvantage if you aren't at least competent with the weapon. trying to hit a skilled dodger will bring your accuracies down and including lg spam goes some way to explain why the players you listed have sub 40%.

At your age, you should just play QL for fun, and focus on more important things in life, such as the English language. Don't get obsessed with the dream of becoming a QL world champion, because not only is it a pointless endeavor, but you simply don't have the right attitude.

What the guys above^^ have said is true, I can only add little input: on an open map like say dm6 when it was overplayed even the most insane RL player would be forced into shaft fights by a clever player or aim reliant lg whore.

On tighter maps like hub (off the top of my head) the RL could bounce then around and end up taking very little damage. Players that think a lot seem to have better lgs but worse overall aims as they rely on tactics and ambush i.e. Cooller - players whom are so experienced and play the game non-stop often baffled me at how they get out of certain situations as they dont seem to dodge but they know subconsciously whats appearing on the enemys screen and how the appear to be moving.

Evil would be a good example although he is very well rounded, his RL is one of the best.

LG is different in CA and in duel. Not the weapon itself, but in ca you can always use it. Duel it's not a great idea.

nowadays lg is the ultimate weapon, as its strong both close and mid.

rockets still have higher DPS in realistic terms assuming you can aim rockets.

Assuming you're getting hit with 40%LG in 1 second the opponent deals 56dmg
Rockets reload at 800ms if you're at close range you can assume that the travel time is about 400ms, max splash damage is 84dmg, so 1200ms between every shot connecting 84/1.2 = 70dmg per second.

TL;DR, You're in close range, aim your rockets better and dodge better.

heres the mistake in your logic. lg is has overall more stable damage output. while dps of rockets may be higher damage per fight will be in favour of lg.

you just cant assume every rocket you will shoot will hit full splash, and you forgot self damage.

Mid would be as it is now (7 dmg), 1-1.5 s and you are dead. Nothing changes - tons of new players (fewer and fewer each day) would still complain on lg-whores.

I played Warsow a little and really liked shorter beam for LG. Totally different gameplay imo. More "complicated" in terms of choosing weapon per fight.

lower close lg damage will benefit other weapons aswell, because the two you mentioned are used as RL replacement mostly, just not as effective or easy to use.

i used pg all the time in wsw, because it was op as fuck. close range, mid range - doesnt matter hit 40pc pg and you win.

imo it's just been cypher not hitting as he should have. We all have seen how emotional cypher gets vs evil which obviously has affected cypher's game. people underrate evil's rocket and rail too, especially lately he has been hitting good rockets.
