no, it has a different coating(which now with the 2014 version is prone to flake off tho :D).
it offers more grip than the traditional coating of the EC evo(non-CL), but still needs a minimal amount of hand sweat, or it might be slippery aswell.

The coatings are very different.

Zowie has stated that they had issues with the coating on some batches of their mice. They claim to have fixed the issue. So the coating shouldn't wear off like before.

The coating for the FK makes my hands sweat. The coating absorbs my sweat, which increases the traction. So as long as there is moisture you will have a easier time holding it.
