They are all on par, unless you absolutely want XL2720z V2 + BB Strobe Utility then ok go for BenQ.

After (far too much) research, I opted for the XL2420Z.

It has 'Blur Reduction' which is the Lightboost stuff you've probably read about, although now easily toggled via hardware buttons.

The delayed G line (i.e. XL2420G) will have G-Sync, although you'll be paying a premium for that, upwards of £325.

The XL2420Z at 144Hz with Blur Reduction is insanely good.

blur reduction is good, but doesnt work well on 144hz tbh :(

If you have version 2 firmware you can use the blur busters tool to rinse even more performance out of it :)

the thing is top and bottom of the screen are constantly misstimed => they are constantly blurry while moving(double images)
at 120hz you can tweak blanking interval so that the whole panel refteshes faster from top to bottom but at 144hz there's barely any space for tweaking. I haven't tried displayport thought, but i doubt that it's any better

I've noticed the double image when moving vertically, not perfect, but it doesn't distract me. If it's much reduced at 120Hz with the blur busters tool I'll go for that.

Mines V1 firmware, I need to try and find the update hardware so I can update myself. Can't find any in the UK!

You can update the firmware with a live linux system. Idid it and I am an absolute linux noob. It worked like a charm without any additional hardware. A step by step guide is in the blurbusters board.

The only gaming monitor worth having if you do color sensible works is the EIZO 240hz, this was reported by many users on a French community.

Comparing the BenQ/Asus/Iiyama for colour is a bit pointless (the +120hz models), specially since many users who purchased one of these 3 brands actually download & change profiles/use a colorimeter. By default everyone agrees that they are all shitty anyway.

You dont' need to do "colour sensible work" to appreciate a monitor that can accurately display colours. The ASUS monitor in question is poor at this, even with other profiles.

Yes I agree, but I'm just saying, any recent monitors from this range don't even please people who had IPS, PLS panels, my second panel is an IPS, and it's not even a beast, but put any +120hz TN panels next to it and you literally get the feeling you're going to throw up :S

You can't purchase these Asus and BenQ TN panels and expect them to reproduce colours well, even with colorimeters... And by the way I don't know how you calibrated yours, but mine was done by a friend, it's a lot better than the day I first turned it on.

My XL2420Z sits next to a 30" IPS NEC panel. The colours of the BenQ are awful in comparison, but the NEC cost £1.5K and is 60Hz.

Play QL on the BenQ and the NEC is awful in comparison :¬)

Is there much difference between 2411z and 2420z?

Identical panel in them, the 20Z has additional connections and a hardware controller that attaches to monitor base. Unnecessary really unless you plan on running two DisplayPort connections, or really fancy the base controller (I've ignored mine, it's still wrapped in the box).

How are input lag on these 120/144hz lcd's? Played on my 17" CRT today and damn it just feels so smooth and reponsive compared to my ancient 22" Samsung lcd.
