davis playing HOT lately.
imo a great example of a player with "movement-fu"(and flipping the coin - "dodge-fu"), positional efficiency(to set up great shotmaking) and turn-on-a-dime evasive maneuvering(minimal splash dmg).

lol, there are 3. the inital direct, and two that i spammed down towards him. one of them pops him up 'stuns' him if you will, and the last one splash kills him. it didn't get recammed because I was too far away and by the time the kill happens he vanishes off screen.

ok after watching it over and over again i finally see it. i dont know if thats a frameskip issue of youtube or whatever but the 2nd of 3 grenades has no indication of beeing shot whatsoever - no animation of the weapon model, no sound. it just seems to be spawning on screen and disappear after a fraction of a second.

how is ts% calculated?

don't know the exact calculation, but the high the number, the lower average elo of your opponents in comparison with yours. i.e., if you have TS: 33% and 2000 elo, you probably play mostly 1400 elo players.

I was under the impression there was a threshold where it considers that you are actually tierslumming, ie 500 elo difference. So that's true, if you're 2000 elo and mostly play 1400 elo players it would be something like 80% in theory.

But maybe I'm talking bullshit now. BS%: 87

highest TS i've seen is 33%, so i think there must be some mathematical limit in play. i think there are a number of good write-ups on general elo calculation (it's not just a Quake Live thing), so you could probably just google it - i'd like to know the answer myself if you find it!

how is this passive? i called you out, and i used an up-to-date figure: TS is constantly recalculated, so if your elo goes up, that's taken into account. are you arguing that you don't play players of significantly lower elo? if so, i'd point you to two facts:

1) you already brought it to everyone's attention with your original post comment about "i tried my absolute best to keep...", so i'm wondering why you said that if you didn't feel like you play lower elo players a lot.

2) you're currently at 2224 elo. a quick review of recent play history shows you playing a fair number of games with elos in the 1700-1900 range. i can't speak to the meaning of 500 elo difference at your level, but i can say that if i were playing 1100 elo players (500 less than my current elo), i'd feel like a bit of a lazy troll. and no, that's not passive-aggressive, i'm actually calling you a lazy troll (via a bit of tricky english if you're also slow).

in any case, video was underwhelming (6/10) and i just plain don't like you, so respond if you like, i'm done.

TS divides your current ELO by the average of every opponent's ELO since 2011. This means that to this day, davis' ts% is diluted by opponent ELOs from a time where he was at a lower skill level.

The fact that he's more recently dueled 1700-1800 ELO players can be explained by there being a lack of players at the time or by him simply not policing his opponent's ELO.

It's incredibly easy for him to be a "lazy troll" because probably a good 75-80% of active players have 500 less ELO than him.

Nope, but it's "confirmed" by the community in some old post. I had a bias against you like you did against davis, so I decided to use shady information because it supported me. But hey, it was 2 A.M.

Yep, this. The NA duel scene is incredibly small these days, even with all the pre-qcon action right now. When you're a high level player it's often difficult to find opponents of equal skill at any given moment. I like to play whenever I feel like playing, so I don't care about my opponent's skill level, as long as they're willing to play me.

Here's the TS% of the top 10 US players. Doesn't seem like Davis is particularly out of wack in this area.

impossible to agree on music i guess. I liked the fact that there was no overly complex frags, which made it a bit dull to be honest. That's not to say frags were average, just that we are conditioned by really top level players, or the fact that i watched quakecon2011 czm vs cooller yesterday, which was absolutely amazing, and czm should have won that 3rd imo, he was on fire. sry ot.

7/10, maybe should have been 8 for effort.
