Some setups make it much easier to hit a lot, that's it. Also, finding out top aimers' sensitvities is always interesing.

yea, they differ just like an average players sens from very low to very high.

I think its more likely that you don't have a decent setup to begin with, turning 8 360s on 5cm isn't a good setup no matter if it feels comfortable.

Ye, the sens is rather unplayable for me. Like trackingwise it is really nice but as soon as someone doges I try to correct, accel kicks in and I hit 20 lg :D

You shouldn't have edited it to 'your dpi here'. but left it at killsens, as using m_cpi does no automatically convert accel for dpi changes, you have to do that yourself.

Anyways, based on what K1llsen is said I think the most likely scenario is that sens 2 in setpoint is 0.2 or one count per 5 ignored.

This kind of thing was actually really common in the early days of q3, where players would have a 400 dpi ball mouse, but use driver settings to throw out every other count or so, rendering it effectively 200 DPI. This doesn't feel quite the same as if you had the DPI itself.

Fatal1ty also did this with the razer boomslang 1000 dpi, which is one of the reasons why you see the sens and accel in his old configs how it was.

While such a thing sounds like it would be terrible, it actually isn't that bad. I've tried it before and I was impressed with how much I was able to tolerate. (I didn't keep using it though, 1:1 ftw for me)

So I suspect k1llsen is using an effective dpi of 200, at 1/5th the counts, rendering his sens 8 to be the equivalent of sens 4 at 400 dpi, and that is 25 cm/360.

The equivalent accel of 0.14 would be 0.035 at 400 dpi.

I believe the 1/5th counts business is part of what gives k1llsen's mousing its 'choppy' look. It probably also renders m_filter 1 more tolerable.

I have a g9x and tested the exact settings. I don't know why you guys even change the accel value :O. All you have to do is plug in another mouse, lower yaw/pitch to the same base sens and then add the accel values.

- I took k1llsens settings without accel on my g9x.
- messured cm/360
- plugged in wmo
- lowered pitch/yaw to same basesens
- used same accel settings

= same feeling

When I get home tonight I'll plug my g9x in, install setpoint and get a ruler out.

The current download for the G9X is the new LGS software, which doesn't have the speed slider, just DPI. I still had a copy of SetPoint 5.46.10 (driver version 5.33.14) in my downloads folder from a couple of years ago, and this is what I came up with.

2 - 0.375
3 - 0.5
4 - 0.75
5 - 1
6 - 1.5
7 - 2
8 - 2.5
9 - 3
10 - 3.5

Because this thread is about k1llsen's settings, I specifically measured 1000cpi at pointer speed 2 and got an average of 361.625cpi over 8 trials with my unfortunately human hand.

m_cpi isn't listed, so I assume 0.

So we have ~375 dpi (3 out of 8 counts wtf?) at sens 3, that's ~37 cm/360.

Accel would be ~0.123 at 400 dpi.

This seems like the most correct from what I tested back when I had a G9, I came to a conclusion that it was a close value to 400cpi, though the accel felt a bit off for 400cpi.

as far as i know he uses logitech drivers which make all calculations pointless
i tried converting it once (with a friend and his g9x) and it was around (for a wmo)
sens 2.8-3.2 ( he changed his base sens throughout the years)
cap a little higher than sens*2
accel 0.18-0.2
filter 1

the impression i had was a medium-low sens with a very high accel mitigated by the senscap, which makes strafing easier and, at the same time, a steady crosshair that allows wide range flicks and tracking

His "real" DPI after all those drivers, settings etc is about 330-360. I dont think you have to calculate this again and again.
