Your teammates don't suck, they're your level.

If you feel like your team lacks direction, you can try to learn leading. Watch some 2GD's Dota 2 VoDs, he's 5500 MMR while being worse than many players below him like Draskyl and Weppas [with lower rating], but he's good at leading his team and giving them direction.

The trick to any teamgame with 'random teams' is to try and understand what your team will do and what the nmy team will do.

Your teamies probably think you're a braindead idiot going 1vs5 while they push somewhere..... (not really sure what is meant by that but I cba to take interrest in games like LoL)

So figure out how your teamies think of playing the game... and adjust to it a bit.
If in QL-TDM 1 guy choses to go for constant harassment and dealing lots of dmg.... the team will fail if the others are more defensively oriented... while it can win if they all follow a similar path.

Based off of that comment im guessing you have never played dota or LoL recently. :)

But the thing is that understanding teamies is almost half of those types of games... And it's the most forgotten part.

Issue with LoL as an example is that you are dependant on your team too win, with the nature of its game design it is at times impossible to do anything if you have a team that doesnt know how to properly engage/disengage in a fight.

Trying to predict your teams movement etc will basically mean you will have to either try and splitpush and win by yourself (most of the time) or back off and die with your team.

Those situtations arent happening every game but they sure as hell happen often enough .:P

I'm just saying that predicting what your own team will do has a major impact on you winning or losing the game.

In teamgames "your view on the game" should depend , in part, on "the opponents view on the game and your teamies view on the game".
Whatever solution you feel is best with that combination in mind is up to the player.... and it's hard to judge their decision without fully knowing the game (so I'm not questioning that). But(!) you shouldn't blame your team for sucking!

They probably are very equal in skill to yourself yet they have somewhat different choices in how to play.

Getting "platinum" in LoL or 2000 ELO in Quake Live or whatever is not a big deal. It sounds like you know you have a good skillset, and you know you have good teamwork. A personal sense of accomplishment and improvement is more valuable than some arbitrary achievement label that can just be reached with cheesy play anyway.

If you have a bad team, just work around their deficiencies and focus on being carefree and merry and I guarantee you'll feel better for it.
