I can give tips and hints though, however, the date of the Prague LAN is pretty close to my/our own LAN (we're working hard to get Quake there, but it currently looks like we won't be able to get PC's with 120hz monitors so it'll be part of the BYOC). One or two events in the past had 120 Hz lcd, I don't remember which ones, but I remember the aim was through the roof in them.

I could possibly go but I'd prefer to play not cast if I'm paying my way there, will have a think.

I have some experience in live audio/video, not twitch streaming but i think I'll manage somehow. I can also bring some equipment like camera, microphone, cables if I'm told in advance. I also would like to try being a caster if it happens, I have a lot of experience of acting on a stage (in italian) and of course I understand that acting and casting are not the same but still I think i'd manage to keep the audience entertained.
I have no plan to play in the competition, maybe the FFA tournament if it happens again or some random LAN games, but if my help is needed to run the stream I'll make that my no1 priority.

About the low signups: It's the quakecon getting all the attention in these days. Wait until the hype is over and you'll see the thread hits skyrocketing.

Just to clarify, the help required is not solely to do with setting up the stream. This is quite manageable.

What is needed, are people who understand how this works and can attend to the stream in shifts without being overwhelmed by any potential issues that may arise. Casting help would also be fantastic.

I would like to be at the event, much like Ins and Koziol. How ever we want an opportunity to enjoy the event for even a short period of time without having to work the stream. Last year was very fun, but we were barely eating or resting - let alone just chilling out with Quakers during the day. We don't want a repeat of that. Instead we want to have a team at the event that can split the work load so that all of us have a chance to relax at different intervals.

Just wanna give some more positive feedback from the LAN. It was amazing! First, Shebin met us (me, PURRI, zoot and ins) at the airport and took us to the hotel. So I want to say a **BIG** thank you to him for that. It is just one example of the generous hospitality that I experienced in Prague.

The venue was PERFECT. There were many TVs and many places to sit for the specs, it was like watching Quake at a bar. Spectator reactions during the games were as passionate as a bunch of football fans watching their home team. So, thanks to all the people watching and caring, and teams for giving us these great games :) And ofc thx to wision for all his hard work with the tourney.

The atmosphere at TDM events is markedly different to duel tournaments. So even if you don't wanna play, its totally worth it to come spec and have some fun. Will definitely be back.

Meeting old friends and making new ones was one of the best parts :) I hope to make a team and be able to play next time! <3

Just got home!
This was the best QL LAN I've been to so far. Just so much fun from morning until morning :) My only complaint at this event would be that there were not enough hours to be able to sleep :D

The venue was great! Perfect for this LAN and also nice for spectators with bar + TV access. Walking distance to everything you need in terms of hotel, hostel, shops, restaurants, supermarket etc. Prague is a beautiful city and living costs there are very affordable compared to most countries I've been to.

There were some issues (hardware) and delays, but none of them should be blamed on Wision + Crew as they were out of there hands. If you had a bad spectator experience from home? Then join for the next one and you will definitely enjoy the event :)

To everyone I had the chance to talk to, thanks for many fun and cool stories! To those who I did not have the chance to talk to, there will be a next time :) I also want to say that the right team won and the other teams including mine need to work on something special if we want to beat 102!

Hopefully we can get more 120hz monitors for next time! Someone call Benq!

Some people were wondering what's the minimum number of teams for the lan to happen.. well.. I don't really know. It depends on how much I can take from donations and how much I can afford to pay from my own pocket.

Last year I said that I will continue to host the lan until enough teams will show up to pay for the lounge. Currently I need 11 teams to pay for the lounge.. which means that if less than 11 will show up, this will be the last Prague lan (sadly).

But don't worry.. I'm sure this year will happen:)

I've played a grand total of about 10 TDM games but if there's someone willing to make a team in expectation of not being very good, I'd be down.

I already thought about couple of them and I'll post news update on tuesday. I'm on vacation abroad until monday, so my options are limited until then.

Hi,

Would you consider moving the TDM LAN in Bucharest (Romania)?
The place is the Discovery Arena gaming cafe where we organized 3 quake live 'lans' so far. It's not as big and fancy as the District one, but I think it will do the job.
Here are some photos I saved from their facebook page, the cafe has 32 PCs and 2 small places for recreational purposes.


The prices for renting the place is about 200 euros / day for all the PCs.
The place is really close to downtown Bucharest, and the prices here are cheaper than Prague.

I can take care of all the organizational stuff, and also look for a hotel/motel close by with nice prices.

What do you guys think?

All the PCs run QL at 125 fps, the only downside is that there are only 16 120hz monitors.
There is a bar + place to hangout, but yes, there is no studio for Zoot.

I just want to help, and let you guys know that if there is no alternative in Prague, I will gladly organize a LAN here in Bucharest.

I guess the monitors are not that important.. The District cafe location was way nicer (more space) then what we have here, but in the end everybody will play quake and get wasted anywhere :D.

Speaking for my self, even though I appreciate your effort, would prefer it to stay in Prague. Main reason being I have non refundable plane ticket and room booking:) Also, seems that flight prices to Bucharest are a bit high (but I guess lower rental prices could cover that (lower team fee vs higher plane ticket price)). Plus the Prague location was really great.

I know, the District cafe location is awesome :(, and I guess you're not the only one in this situation (payed for plane tickets and acomodation).
