ql runs like shit.

i know it runs worse than q3, by quite a bit.. but ive never had frame drops, ever. not on this core i7 and im pretty sure i had no issues with 8 year old amd dual core either :P

I have a really shaby setup. 2.3 GHz dualcore with some shitty AMD (not recognized by system "unknown"). 2GB of RAM with 4 different 512's and GeForce 7600GT.
Generally speaking QL works fine but some maps... Holy shit.

Maybe I will get a new motherboard in a week... Some few upgrades and I could use lightmap... :D

if your power supply isn't a complete piece of shit you can get a graphics card a million times better than that for less than $50. i have i5 2500k @ 4.5 GHz and a gtx 770 and when i do a practice game with lots of bots and look towards the action my fps drops to like 230 with very low cpu and gpu usage. it's annoying because as soon as it drops from 250 it isn't perfectly smooth anymore. then i go and launch q3 and get 1400 fps.

I have GeForce 8800GT next to me but the power supply screams for help.
Good thing is if I will get the motherboard (it's all old gear from my sister's boyfriend ]:-)) I will buy power supply and I'll be able to use 4x1GB RAM sticks. I will play like 2 FFAs on max detail and then never come back ;)

very strange. I get stable 250 in similar setup on i5 4690 @3.5GHz + gtx 760 hawk.

made timedemo of beyonreality with 8 bots - it shows 500FPS+...

also did you try to set your powerplan to max performance and vieo card setting for the same?

If you use vertexlight, you most likely will never get an unstable frame rate, which could explain your lack of problems in this matter, even with older hardware.

If not, then consider yourself lucky :)

I get random clipping issues going from YA through RL to Bridge. Occasionally getting stopped either hitting the 1st curved wall as you leave pillars, or going past the intel sign in-front of RL.

When it 1st came out it happened constantly at RL, now it's pretty rare but still happens.

Also the texture colours are retarded. A blue that almost matches mega...wut?

Old Campgrounds looks like Commodore64 game.

I prefer camgroundsintel to the regular one.

if they tone down the overall brightness to match the rest of the game -and like T1E said, make it so you can actually see the mega- i'd be more than happy to keep it aswell :)

The problem I have with it is not just the brightness, but the balance of the lighting. If you turn the gamma down some areas could be pitch black while those lights are still bright as feck.
But then again I may have overly sensitive basement dweller eyes

IMHO: Keep intel skins, layout & other changes, remove the heatsinks and redo some parts of the pure blue textures (especially MH area)

Try copyright and trademark infringement just for starters. I'll leave the implications of re-branding Intel's materials with its competition brand to the experts.

I'm pretty sure the map wasn't made by intel, they don't have copyright to anything we see in that video (unless id handed it over). If we leave out that AMD might get pissed about their name being there this isn't more problematic than any other dm6 reskin.

Wasn't made by Intel, but was paid for by them. $10K, at least. That is enough to make it "theirs".

Just to avoid intel being put out seing that their sponsorship is being depreciated by covering the map with logos of one of their biggest competitors.

i like this new campgrounds better than the old one. it just needs a re-texture and someone to get rid of the ceiling spotlights that make fighting/seeing someone at rail an aggravation.
