because the armor and health still gives you... more armor and health :p. And if you win after a long fight, you still need it, just like in normal duel :p

most major stack items are positioned in a way that they are easy to deal dmg against. if you're already spawning with 350hp and 300 armor, it kinda defeats the purpose of taking any sort of risk to pick up items, unless the items give you 300 stack each.

yap you are right, i play always the same, ie lg whoring at strong position. But like i said i would play differently if it wasn't idoser. He hates when i start to play more defensive, so then we both agree to meet up at the strongest position for shaft after each death :).

and from my part, i have as much satisfaction when it hit +2-3% lg as when i outsmart my opponent ;). Quake is a fast fps, it's not ONLY about brain, but also aim/dodges ;)

also, altho duel and ca are completely different gametypes, there are still some similarities between them aswell :)

all that u mentioned is a bunch of stuff relative to quake, not duel specifically. sure aerowalk is mainly a duel map, but ive seen it played in other modes. so again, how is this anything like duel?

We have 1-2 servers like that east coast usa... (FFA)
It's pretty fun. Servers usually fill up quick and stay full.
Most "new" people i run into on these servers are generally CA players.
or lower tier ffa players.

I prefer to have to search for weapons/ items so i get bored with these after a few maps but all in all it's pretty fun.

Sir_Frags runs a weird server sometimes.
You start with 5 rockets, 5 rails and 5 shotty bullets and i think 100 lg.
Have to search for ammo, armor other weapons.
It's fun other than the lame spawn protection.

well, k1llaken already beat idoser at lg duel :p and he has improved a lot lately. For his defense he played on 62ms ping while i had 50ms :).

and his clan is a pretty skilled one, with people like T1hol , AkaDvar , Ashy , Sn0W_CrasH , Jelpakka and so on :)

i like the smoothness of 5 and the fact that it's translucent, with gunx -10 and z -8 it's much more thinner than with drawgun 0 :D, but still not so thin.

i like 4 or 2 because with gunx -10 and z -8 it's very thin/precise, but imho the effect of the shaft beam gives you eye cancer :D not as smooth as 5 :)
