What's your mouse setup, m_pitch values and the like?
Standard m_pitch, 0.022, no accel as my mouse has it built in. And why would I need two accels? It'll probably confuse me. One can't disable accel in Steelseries Kinzu V1.

What can you say about QuakeCon?
I failed at organizing my arrival there. Also some flight problems interfered - my flight got cancelled. I lost the whole day and lots of energy. I had to stop there and I spent too much money on that. But that's not relevant... Most important is - I lost a day. And energy - I had to stand in queue to the Support post. All passengers of my flight were there too, each has been served for 30-60 minutes. So I had to literally stand all day long. Also I travelled sleepy... and the trip got overcomplicated... and my luggage got lost temporariliy. They returned it, but that was late. I was able to sleep one day there, it was at July, 16th.
So I decided to train a bit and went there at 1 P.M.. They told me the computers would be ready after 1-2 hours. We decided to wait, but it was not until 11 P.M. that I was able to play. So me, toxjq and some others went to play for 2 hours. Then it got 1 hour for me too fall asleep, so I'd been sleeping only since 2 A.M.. And the games were early in the morning. So I was drowsy and I hadn't recreated fully. In the morning I was more or less in form but later on I lost it completely. But I had lived till the third place anyway.
Next time I'm gonna plan so that I'm not dependent on flight cancellation and so that I get time to rehab, adapt and get myself into mood.

Do you know if Cypher flew before you? In advance or not?
AFAIC he flew right before the start, but it somehow didn't affect him. Actually he is more experienced than me in travelling by plane. Only recently I've started to fly and each time I encountered new problems. I didn't have the chance previously to fly. But each time I advance learning from my own mistakes.

Do you remember your semifinal game against Cypher?
I do. I couldn't play my game. I tried just playing anything, hoped for luck. I didn't understand how to play. My head was out, I played unconsciously, with absolutely no thought. Hoped for luck, but it took just one mistake for me to stop knowing what to do. So I just threw it for free.

On group stage:
I lost to everyone 2:1, except rapha, whom I beated 2:0. I'd warmed up already, but it wasn't easy, took some effort.

What about 3rd place match against tox?
Actually we'd been practising together since 23 P.M. till 1 A.M.. It was him who I played with. He wasn't allowing me to warm up. He was studying me. Such a warm up wasn't to my liking. I was trying some shooting and running around and he was playing seriously, studying me, camping me everywhere. It was unpleasnt to warm up with him. But he got his benefit, what he wanted. And then won against rapha. It was clear he became more confident. Probably after my games against him. Well done [anyway]! He probably surpassed himself. I think he was glad.
I also saw him training before LAN [on Swedish servers with LAN ping]. He had put serious effort in this. Probably he was lacking just a little and got that 'little' (and confidence) after warming up with me.

On this LAN picks:
It's player based. With ash I'd pick Cure. It's hard to say now, but it's easy at the map picking process. Once he drops some map I know what I'll drop.

What map is your strongest?
As of now they're all equal. Well, not all. DM13 is not what I wish to play.

What about your games against YAY0 during current 125 FPS cup?
I experimented with my sensitivity. I got advised some mouse fix, I started to use it. At first it seemd normal. But at tense moments I just didn't know how to move that mouse. So I missed a lot and let him get away. I was attacking him relying on my aim, but as I missed a lot I lost lots of frags and it was beyond my reach. After I lost to him I changed everything back, got warmed up with my old sensitivity and played normally against YAY0 as I wanted.

What about the game against Clawz? were you ready for such a [strong] opposition?
Of course I know he has some online results and that he shows his worth in 125 FPS league. So I knew it would be a somewhat hard match and was in the mood for it. I was ready for it although I didn't know any of nuances of his playstyle, I even didn't know what maps does he play. I didn't know at all that his best map was Sinister. I dropped only what I didn't want to play.
AFAIR I started 1 frag ahead, then there were several troublesome moments for me and control immediately goes to him. And the map is peculiar: it's somewhat difficult to play out of control as the enemy always has both mega and red armour, so he's leading stackwise apriori. So I had to live on two yellows or even on a yellow with shards. I couldn't last for long - at some moment he just pushed and crushed me with his stack. Honestly I don't remember how I came back. He built some lead, we had some fights, I was hitting quite hard but he was easily stepping away from fights to recover his stack. I don't really remember how I killed him. I timed mega in parallel to everything: staying on yellows and with no fights I tried to estimate the mega time. At some moment I accumulated 100 armour and came to mega to give a fight and I got lucky that mega and red were spawning at the same time. So I knew exactly what entry he takes (teleport), I knew exact mega time and I dealt good damage and got mega. That was the key moment, rest was a technical matter.

Anything on YAY0?
Heard there's such a human and he shows some results, but I don't know who or what he is.

What can you say about the other new map, Cure?
It's a completely different map. Sinister requires more strategic, accurate, distant play. You have to play very accurate, the first frag is very important - the one to take control dominates... usually. And Cure is a super dynamic map, advantage can switch multiple times during the game. So you have to fight, you have to risk on a constant basis, you have to fight for top devices. And on Sinister one can run away for 2 minutes: shards, yellows, round the corners, etc. I even remember the game against Clawz where I easily amassed 200 armour on shards and yellows. It's somewhat similar to dm13 in that you can strategically run around avoiding the enemy.

Do you pick Ztn, Aero, DM13 or any other old maps currenly?
I play all maps, but there are some maps in the mappool which I either don't like or uncomfortable with (considering them weaker). So when we are dropping maps I, of course, persuade to leave maps I excel at. Of course, I take into account my enemy's performance on different maps but in general I persuade playing maps I play good.

What maps are uncomfortable for you?
Random maps like Aerowalk, Toxicity, maybe Cure nowadays. Primary maps are more strategic, one can win them with tactics, while Aero means constant fighting, risking. I don't like such maps very much. I like safer maps where one can play a sure thing naturally leading to a win.

Do you think all the tricks and angles of Cure and Sinister are explored?
I think there's still room for improvisation on those maps. It's very simple: if we'd played Ztn 10000 times and Sinister - only 1000 times, although we might know lots of nuances and angles in Sinister there still might be things to explore.

Once again on Aerowalk and Toxicity:
Performance there is highly dependent on aim. And one has to constantly dynamically control, run around the map, definitely take risks. Yes, you get frags very fast, you can get a substantial lead, but you also can make up the difference. There's too little room to hide there. But there are people which are more technical in avoiding fights even on such maps.

Do you consider cybersport being cybershit?
I do. Isn't it that now? Let the man try to prove otherwise to me. Apart from International... But that's a recent thing. In our times, from 2002 till 2010, huge prize money were in principle absent. Even if you won, even if you maintained top placement throughout the year, moneywise it was... I'm only touching upon the financial side currently, of course I understand there are some other pros and cons, but moneywise should one just get any job he'll, after ten years, have progress, have some worthy level... You can start at McDonalds at cash desk and after 10 years you'll definitely gonna be some manager with normal money. And in Quake after ten years I'm seeing no prize money, no tournaments, and time is lost. Not that I regret about anything...

elder: What about the Steam release? Would it enliven Quake Live?
Cooller: It's doubtful. What can it possibly do to raise the popularity?
elder: There are players which use only Steam and see nothing but Steam.
Cooller: Well, yes it might attract some part of the audience, but still they'll join servers, play, get punished, get disappointed with the game, rage for getting no results and leave for playing CS where they have better results.
elder: And what about the changes the forthcoming patch brings?
Cooller: Haven't heard of it. Can't comment on that.
elder: Ok, what if the game gets simplified to the noob level? Would it help attract new players?
Cooller: It's doubtful. I can't imagine anything simplifying Quake. You can ease aiming, timing, every aspect, but experience would still be there.
elder: Do you expect to win this LAN?
Cooller: Dunno. I play on an average level now. I came to play, but I, of course, make an effort. Dunno what happens... but taking into consideration evil brought his monitor here... I don't find it nice or respectful.
elder: But many other also brought their monitors.
Cooller: Others are Ok to play, but I feel it's unfair for evil to do this. Although I remember myself doing just that at some LAN party, but I had been absent from playing for like half a year and I wasn't looking forward to top placement.

ash: Best LAN in my life! I've seen quite some LANs and this is splendid. In Quake Live that's definitely the best LAN, it has peak competitor level. Agent, evil, Cooller, Pasha, Clawz, h8m3 after all, me, of course, baSe, Nitrino - everyone is here.

ash: No, I'm gonna play Agent now and then I'll drop out ;)

pavel: There were many critical moments, we've regained control from each other like 3-4 times.
