How do I get the ingame ELO script working again, and how do I get the ELO showing next to the nicks of players in the browser? it was the only way to know if the skill was going to be even or not.

is all you need, once QLHM is installed (NOT the beta version), and the QLranks plugin from within that.
if QLHM failed to load though it wont show, so check for the HOOK link used for QLHM settings under your quakelive logo, if it's not there then web_restart till it shows.

So what about ingame friend list as you are windowed? why in hell did they remove this feature?
And why in holy hell haven't they given us the option to disable ingame friend notifications? They have broken it and I don't stop having friend X connected/disconnected constantly.
Except QLHM only works because Sponge explicitly wrote the stand alone client to allow such functionality to be added by the community...

They're never going to incorporate a 3rd party site into their own. The ranking QLranks does, they do internally anyway, it's just they don't want to display it.
When QuakeWorld had a system like that and showed player rank to the server when someone connected it just stopped tons of games happening as everyone would leave the server when someone higher joined.
QLranks is cool and all, but for the 95% of players that don't know about it/care about it (most outside of tier4, but a lot of tier4 too) it's better left unseen.
As for the in game online/offline thing, I and several others have been asking to disable that since day1, every single year... sigh.
It's annoying for us, and it's REALLY bad for streamers.
