The players from south america are easy to recognize because they all use red yellow and blue in their name tags (country flag colors) I don't recall seeing brazilian or argentinian players which is probably due to 200 ping lol.

If I had to pinpoint the issue, I would say that it is more likely to be some kind of cultural problem. I didn't play CS but I do know that it was pretty popular locally. If a little group of hackers developed during the early age of online gaming, it would be safe to assume that their number would have grown by then due to the great exposures to hacks making them believe it is a common thing to do.

I believe the problem was also present on IRC.

But yeah, as FlashSoul said, maybe the numbers are not even higher.

Personally I have never witnessed anyone in my entourage hacking except in Diablo 1 & 2 (probably a mix of culture / lack of interest in the game; grinding) and one pothead who thought he was cool shit for being able to DDOS people. I think it's really funny how cocky cheaters like jimqc and quiet_l get even though they've done nothing to earn the success. I doubt there are even that many french Canadian players, it's probably just 3-4 guys with different aliases, that is if we are talking about those so-called good guys or cheaters as some call them.

Only other french Canadian player beside myself I know from Q3 days is Cyrax. So it's kinda weird to see that many of them playing QL when they were pretty rare in Q3. On top of that, they are all heavy aimers, so go figure out where they were all hiding during Q3 days.

Theres actually a lot of French-Canadian players. BLaTr1X, rewket, extremez, barnak, nem and so on.

I know that there is a pretty decent amount of french Canadian players in QL, but I was mostly referring to those who keep getting banned over and over.

And yeah I forgot about Blatrix, rest I really don't know, either they are former RA3 players or QL newcomers.

Dunno, it is true that I have never encountered another french player during the old Q3 days but I guess it was probably pretty hard to notice. There wasn't any flag indication and there is never much talking unless you keep going on the same servers.

Also the q3 browser probably didn't help either, it was slow as hell and had way too many servers. I would pretty much always stop retrieving the server list as soon as I saw 1 server with proper ping.

But yeah, time changed, I only played 1v1 insta, Ra3 and a little bit of duel which is why I still have faith in the CA guys. They might one day move over a better gametype. The only problem I have is when I see newcomers who do not care a damn about how to properly play a team based game or just carry the typical CA attitude over. There should almost be a little an optional tutorial TF2 style during the first visit of a mode or map lol.

I don't know the guy but just giving accuracies like that isn't gonna convince me that someone cheats. It's possible to hit those percentages from time to time, even twice in a row. Depending on who you play against, mostly. Anyway, I feel it's better to stay silent unless we have something solid to argue with.

yeah, i know. it just seems extremely fishy to me that there are these players that have fresh accounts and are hitting very high accuracies more often than not. maybe he's just next level cheating and turning his bot off and on every few games. some games he hits low accuracy and then there's five games in a row where he hits 45-50%.

Even with the extended stats script that shows you how many shots were hit/fired that's meaningless unless you actually watch the game and see how they're picking shots.
