I've never seen the server browser show that many people in NA though.

i don't understand how to download this ALT BROWSER script.

I launched extraQL and installed new hook version, but when i open the Script Management View in Quake Live i can't find this script.

I got the latest ExtraQL 1.4 downloaded from sourceforge.. :(

I made the 1.4 package before the script was released, so it's not included in the .zip, but it should auto-download when you either run extraQL.exe or have the latest hook.js installed.

the script name is "altbrowser.usr.js" and is listed as "Alt Browser" under Userscripts / Script Management

Ok.

It doesn't autodownload with the latest hook.js installed. Also, it cannot reach the server to check for scripts updates. It has to manually check all scripts and it takes up to 2 mins.

In that case I guess you have the "Allow other computers to access this extraQL HTTP server" checked.

Please uncheck this option, it is intended for my public server. If it is checked, extraQL.exe will only update the scripts that are already installed, directly from sourceforge, which requires a 5sec delay between requests.
If you uncheck this option, your extraQL.exe will ask my public extraQL server for a list of scripts and downloads updates and new scripts from there, which doesnt even take a second.

I will check that option asap (most likely tonight) but I think I already tried checking/unchecking it..

I just tested extraQL under Linux and noticed that even if the option is not checked, the code might fall back to this slow update check agains source forge if my public server is not reachable.
I'm currently investigating what could cause this and will add a fix to 1.5

What do I enter for clan arena game mode in the filters? I tried "ca" but it matches more than just clan arena (eg. CTF). Is there a list somewhere?

You can still use the standard QL filter in addition to the smart filters.
Or you can activate the "Game Type Picker" script too and then just click on the CA symbol

Full gametype names will work (e.g. "clan arena").

I intend to increase what can be filtered and improve the help section.

How do i exclude: Server modified, Unrestricted Match?

I've just added support for filtering on skill ("Unrestricted Match", "More Challenging", etc.), password, and ranked/unranked. The help section has also been improved. The new version (0.12) should start showing up soon.

To your question: "mods + unrestricted" should work now.

Updated to correctly identify Classic/Turbo/Standard servers in v0.16. Should be rolling out shortly.

Also, the rulesets can be filtered upon like other modifications shown when hovering over the wrench icon. For example: "ruleset: classic", "ruleset: turbo", "ruleset: " (any non-Standard ruleset).

Nice, but too slow imo as you have to sit about hovering, or type in the filters each time.
Could you just put a column showing Q/C/T until someone makes some nice tiny icons?
Or pick some colours and colour the wrench somehow?
