So we will be doing a new show next week and we will have a Q&A section. So if you have any questions to ask that we could discuss/answer, post them here and we will use em!
1) the obvious one about the patch
2) will lvlup ever return to cover a league properly?
3) any chance of covering a LAN locally, whenever the next prague-style lan comes around
4) thoughts on the belgium lan, smart or no?
5) is reflex overhyped + general thoughts on it
6) zlive situation and how it turned out
I haven't watched it since then, but people are really unhappy with the new casters.
Though it has to be said that's caused not because of them, nor by zoot, but due that there's a lack of channels in english covering online tournaments.
Do you(dis&vor) enjoy any other games atm and would you consider streaming them at lvl^? Like cs, battlefield or whatever you might be playing. It wouldnt have to be some yo yo esport stream, but just a stream of one or both of you enjoying a game of whatever, I think people would watch that.
1)Which team in your opinion is the best in history of TDM?
2)Which team in your opinion is the best in history of CTF?
3)Yout throughts about rapha perfomance at quakecon?
4)What you think about Cypher games at quakecon?
5)Which game for quake series is the best in your opinion?
6)How you imagine Quake in future game will die or survive?
7)What is better gamemode CPMA,defrag,PQL,Race?Which in your opinion is hardest to master
8)Which casters duo is the best in quake history?
In face of the recent evidence that came to public about id devs's iniquity and heresy towards the Almighty Quake, which of the following options (or other) you think is the most adequate:
a) Disembowelment;
b) Burning at the steak;
c) Impalement;
d) Beheading;
e) Tickling to death;
f) Progeny stew force-feeding;
g) Hanging;
h) Skinning;
i) Death of 1000 cuts;
j) Boiling;
k) Tarring and feathering;
l) Stretching;
m) Live burial.
Just thought of something, more of a suggestion than a question though. If you don't think you will have to time to cast regularly again anytime soon, if you find the time I'd love to see you arrange something like the allstars tdm showmatch Zoot did once, taking place over an evening or two.
Epic are thinking about some changes to CTF, adding half-time etc, to make the new Unreal Tournament more sportslike and spectator friendly. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pt8DcK-Hhf0&t=0m36s
What are your thoughts on this and what could/should be done to make TDM more spectator friendly in fast paced games? I haven't heard them suggest any TDM changes yet.
I read somewhere that they have added tactical timeouts to competitive CS:GO matches. Each team has one timeout per map I believe. Would it be a good thing to add tactical timeouts to TDM in fast paced games like Quake? They've also started having a coach standing behind the team talking to the players. Would an in-game coach make games better or worse in a timing based game??
What ruleset do you think is going to be used in tournaments after the "2.0" patch, in any mod.
Alternatives are:
a) Standard, default "2.0", which includes loadouts and gameplay changes across the field.
b) Pay to play, classic "QL 1.0", which is the one used thus far.
c) cooller.
The way I see is that the only remaining tournaments (125fps cups) will use classic gameplay, while the remaining lan (Quakecon) is going to use 2.0.
If the 2.0 patch is released in the leaked terms, do you think "we" as a community will leave QL just because of that? In that case, where do you think we'll land? Reflex, cs:go, new ut, reborn, CPMA Q3, QW, supraball, real life?
If any other of the many upcoming FPS' has good prize pools and lan tournaments, do you think we'll finally leave Q3/QL for good? We know the 'mercenaries' just play everything with a pool then come back to Q3 once the money runs out, and with them go some players that think will become progamers, but do you think that will change now that there won't be a Q3/QL to back up to?
Here's are some questions (and either reasoning behind them or topics the questions could be segwayed to) I personally would find interesting, I hope some get picked up for ze show:
1) With clan-based competition in QuakeLive at an all-time low, if you were to provide regular live content, what other competitive gaming environments would you consider venturing into (if any)? (especially considering you and vor have originally migrated from JK2 after its major competitive decline, which can be correlated to the current state of events on QL).
Would like to see a brief over-view of pros and cons of titles and your take on current casting talent (both coverage of events and "watch me plap and self-cast @home" streams)such as League of Retards, DOTA, CS:GTFO, Battletoads: Poker/MTG rip-off Hearthstone, and/or anything else? I've been out of paying attention to QL for about a year/year and a half and have also spent almost no time gaming except for some nerding it in CS earlier this summer, but have glanced at other streams/games out of curiousity. Would be interesting if your views on those titles are similar to mine.)
2) In regards to the situation on a familiar front: Would you consider your primary allegiance to QuakeLive as a title or to TDM as a gametype?
i.e. if given a choice of one, would you prefer: covering any QuakeLive gametype available & hosting/arranging some yourself as long as it's QuakeLive, or would you rather do a historical section of notable TDM matches from the past be they Q3, Q4 (COVLAN 4K VS DIGNITAS DOUBLE OVERTIME MOST EXCITING TDM MATCH EVER), CPM (Poles vs Swedes NC 1/4 final 2006) and any other other Quake/ deathmatch FPS titles?
3) With improvements in hardware capabilities increasing the amounts of people who can stream, do you think the current QL model of "One language stream per event allowed" has been detrimental to QL's (lack of) popularity on Twitch and decreasing in-game playerbase? .
The reasoning for this question is this: I recall LVL^ hosting a TDM showmatch between 102 and team CZE, and I was like "mind if I do a test stream as well" to which you (Dis) replied "sure I don't see why not". I had 9 viewers to your 1000+ but it's the hospitality that counts)) The way I've heard things are now are akin to this: "oke 1 NASH RUSKIY STRIM, 1 FRANCUZ, 1 INGLISH, everyone else plise go to XYN)))"
4) (Variation A): In 2014, do you think that grass-roots "I sit at home and casually play" streams are a direct indication of a game community's health status?
(Variation B): Given the amounts of people tuning in to see Zoot's streams, QLRanks' stable round-the-clock viewership numbers and Inferno's and 102.Ash's ad-hoc streaming, why aren't that many people following suit?
Self-explanatory question, asked in two alternative ways (whichever one is easier to answer).
5) Due to Vor's secrecy regarding his identity and reluctance to appear at LANs, I've had a drunken theory in late 2012 that he's actor/comedian Karl Theobald off the show Green Wing, due to a potential voice similarity. On a scale ranging from "not at all" to "u wot m8", how much is Vor offended by that comparison?
6) Aaand in regards to Vor, would be interesting to hear his opinion on the current aggresive beg-a-thon/retard-fest that is the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and any similarity to early 2000's "IF YOU DONT REPOSTE THIS MESSAG 10 TIMES, A GHOST WILL JUMP FROM YOU'RE KOMPUTER SCREAN AND MURDRE U"-type chain mail, as Vor's diatribes against stupid shit (Shootmania, HAX, etc) were definitely missed round here.
7) How the FUCK did we get the Deus to play lol-iCTF in that nations cup that one evening? I'm still perplexed by the notion.
8) Mind following me on the cavalcade of hashtaggotry that is twitter? @ShadyVoltaire
Guess that wraps up the questions, looking forward to your show!
