So from this specific time from 14.25 for about 60 seconds (as link below) I will try to explain:

Oh Yes and FYI:
STR = Strength Rune = 2 x Damage.
Grapple and STR = The Grapple when someone has STR has a characteristic sound when it is "fired", like all their weapons with STR when fired. The grapple connection to the wall / wall clunk however is default standard grapple wall cluck sound.

So:

This enemy has FLAG and I hear he has STR because of grapple, and I'm chasing him to get flag back. He has STR so must be careful, but "definitely" want to get that Flag back. Flag info I bring up shows, our team has flag, So I know to chase, as our flag defence will be there, as my position was mostly floating midfield / def / attack. Anyway that Flag carrier must die, so we can cap it. Also a bonus to get that RUNE off him.

So this flag carrier "Grimburgoth" was a "bit clever" after going up the large wall, tried to close the gate on me, to prevent me to get through, or even squish me (that would have been a quality move). So because of this he didn't go to the predicted point of fire from my rockets, as he was pushing button, so my rockets missed him, 1st to knock him away from tele into lava, and 2nd one before the tele exit. Nice move grims :)

Should have lost him out of tele exit. He didn't go the regular route by RL to get Mega, which I went, but I heard him after that, going to the next most common place to stack up with armor / YA. (as he missed the YA at the start after climbing up the wall, and I definitely hit him hard enough that he needed armour). But, "because of the sound of the STR grapple, and the standard clunk when connecting to wall" I knew he was below in YA, and waited for him to come out. (Standing where I was, was so he didn't push lava trap below, or I could squish him :))

So found him from the sounds, and managed to kill him and return the flag and get STR, bonus. All because of the Grapple sounds. Thx grapple I love you.

The next grapple help was in the next 20 seconds:

I had STR needed to keep it for sure, so must get Tanked up with Stack, and also get the NME flag if it was returned. So did the usual run past quad just in case it was to spawn, got HP, and secured RA, and up to flag spot, to secure area, and be right on the spot if their flag was returned. "Heard very little", just info from deaths and team info.

Luckily I saw the NME's Mega, definitely wanted their Mega, but just before racing to get it, "heard a grapple fire, and a grapple clunk hit". It was NME's base and more than likely their defence, and wanted to deny whoever it was them from getting there first, and it if was the flag carrier, definitely sucker them into it and deny and kill them. Also a grapple coming from RL area, well needed to be careful as they probably would have had an RL.

It wasn't a "quaded grapple sound, as I would have heard quad taken and that", so as I now had STR & stack and potentially more stack with mega, probably come out okay with its splash and dmg, even if I had a bad turn of rubbish shots and they had excellent shots.

So if it wasn't for the Grapple sounds, I probably would have been surprised and died. (Lucky it was only Whez on my team, cleaning out all their stuff too :) but I wasn't to know.)

So all in all a very useful additional sound cues.

You probably wouldn't notice it, unless you played the game with grapple loads, but I didn't use it all the time, and held back using it at certain times, waiting for sound information. It was a bit like footsteps and other sound cues.

I am sure there was a lot more going on in my head at the time, but that's just to explain how those annoying sounds actually made it, more readable.

Still the fastest and most fluid CTF I have known, with the ultimate in timing / awareness / and complete visualisation of the whole map and action in your head, managed every split second.. Those split second decisions needed to ensure you either get that cap or frag or flag, or Die just before or after the flag is capped. Crucial. Like the first cap, where I died, but managed to cap a split second b4, it. so worthy it.
