reflex still hasn't won me over, but i voted for it. there's no way in hell i go back to vq3.

if it's a downgrade from cpm, i'll play qwtdm and cpm 1v1 instead

I'd rather give Reflex a shot as it seems to have pretty engaged and active developers and has the potential to be something new, whereas Quake 3 is already perfected and will be there forever.

Reflex is great, but its just one of a whole bunch of upcoming games I think look good.

I imagine QL will stop being my main game in the next year or so, and I definitely want to move to something new, but it could be any of the new games I like the look of. Reflex is just one option.

Most will just stay with quake live, aside of a couple of ca players maybe. Does not make much sense to switch to a completely different game if you are as allergic to changes as most of the quake live community is.

This community has been longing for changes since q4, but that doesnt mean people are supposed to be happy with every shit thats thrown their way.

It's not about being happy. It's about not being unhappy enough (despite whining) to invest time and effort to get used to a new game. Sure, some things changed. Still, in ql you got your config, your profile, your friendslist and a comfortable web interface. I doubt many are willed to give that up to fiddle with Q3.

Both Reflex and Reborn stand a chance of being successful but there's a difference between developers. Reflex seems to have developers that actually work on the game all day and night, having shifts etc. What about Reborn? It's been a few years and it's not even half way done or nowhere near halfway. Moreover, Reflex developers seem to listen to the community which is a massive advantage. One thing is sure, Reflex will come out before Reborn.

the reason reborn is so unfinished is because after a year and a half of work (or something like that) they scrapped it all and started again. It sucks for the development timetable but it at least shows that they are committed to providing a good game.

2GD had a break due him attending to Dota event I believe. He was away for a month but now he's back. Back = Will start working again.

I imagine firefrog worked on some less exciting stuff while he was gone too. Engine stuff or something.

Exactly. As a former WoW arena player I'm quite familiar with 2GD's past activities, and when he wants to do something, he does it right.
That's why I prioritize Reborn over the other candidates.
I've also played some Bloodline Champions as well, where he made the tournament system, which was excellent. Yes BLC died, but for other reasons, let's not go into that.(Funcom pushed the devs into an impossible situation with retarded demands. Publishers killing games... surprise surprise.)

QL's situation isn't entirely unsimilar right now, hah.
