Decrypt the pk3. Quake Live doesn't encrypt their shit any more.

I tried to load quakelivedec but that fails too even under compatibility mdoe. Can you decrypt for me pls.

Change the name to raztrainql_beta3_2.cfg

Unless he changed the name of the internal files within the zip to ..._fixed. the .bsp files and others need to match the cfg filename. Just change the filename to whatever matches the bsp file inside the zip.

the description on how to use quakelivedec on the QL forums is wrong.

it has to be "quakelivedec oldfile newfile" in the batch file, and not the other way around like it says there.

respond yes when it asks about overwriting as you gave the output file the same name as the input. Done, no need to mess about with zip applications or even renaming.
Check the file is still write only though or the launcher will delete it.
The C source is ANSI C and will build and run under linux GCC fine, you don't have to mess about trying to run the included Windows exe if you're using linux.

All that would matter would be which file you then chose to try and load into QL.


The only reason quakeisalive had a problem earlier is actually because the .bsp is a file within the pk3, renaming the pk3 doesn't rename the .bsp inside it,

so " raztrainql_beta3_fixed.bsp" doesn't exist, it's still just "/map raztrainql_beta3" or whatever the bsp was called. :)

You mean without replacing it? This is surprising. Try running it with "old.pk3 new.pk3" instead. What happens?

I am ofc responding to Yakumo saying you should do

old.pk3 old.pk3

i.e. directly attempting to convert the file into the same file. THAT'S when it erased the contents as a result. Using different names during conversion and then renaming manually works of course. I'm thinking it could just have a syntax of:

old.pk3

meaning convert from and to a file of that name (would make sense).

also .pk3 has to have the same exact name as the .bsp inside.
