It's like every hobby. Some people don't notice the difference between 60 and 120hz, others would say "it's just a guitar". Also some notice the improvement but don't think it's enough to pay that much only for that improvement, as a regular screen still works as a screen.

So, for some people the difference between a good setup -including headphones/speakers, dac, amp, source (music), etc.- and something regular is night and day, to the point it's worth buying, while for others it's not worth it, or even some can't notice the difference at all (though tbh if you like music then you should notice it immediately)

In videogames in particular, in a game with good surround audio the difference is immediately noticeable. Great pair of 2.0 music headphones for that use + dac with "dolby headphone" (virtual surround) + in a game with decent sound = competitive advantage = money.

Got KOSS UR40 and they are ok for me (good enogh for everything) and sound is better than any gaming headset. also got standalone mic.

I understand to buy good headphones for MUSIC, but for gaming? lolz... games itself got often crap sound.

also, you need good sound card, other way there will be no difference for sure.

Then it doesn't make sense for him to say it's expensive, does it? I'm guessing most people here laugh at $50 being expensive for headphones or earbuds, but it probably is expensive for the quality you would get from a "gaming gear" company.
