Hey guys, my name is Anthony Perfetto and I represent the Style-Productions editing community. Right now, we are hosting an editing competition allowing editors to use any game they want for a chance to win part of a 300€ prize pool. It has minimal restrictions and is a great way to earn some cash while doing something you love.
We've recently released a promotional video advertising said competition and wanted to give you guys at ESReality a heads up. Style-Productions have always respected what the community has built on this site and we would be honored to have the members here submit something. Follow the links below to read the rules and catch the promotional video created by Oui, the maker of the Lollipops Counter-Strike series.
- Deadline: November 9, 2014, 11:59 pm CET
- All games allowed. No live footage
- One submission per user
- Length Restrictions: 120s minimum, 240s maximum
- Our sponsor's url, matrixstorm.com, must be presented clearly for 3 seconds. There is no restriction on where you place it. However, extra points will go to the editor that finds a unique way to incorporate this into their video.
- The official Style Competition Banner must also be presented clearly for 3 seconds. There is no restriction on where you place it. You may edit it, turn it into 3D, and apply effects to it. However, it must appear in its default position for at least 3 seconds. Again, extra points will go to the editor that finds a unique way to incorporate this into their video.
Also there are no restrictions on how to release the movie in the rules:
Meaning you can upload it on YouTube once you finished it for example and do not need to wait until the contest is over.
(Of course you still have to submit it on the page as described in the Competition Rules in order to enter ;)
There should be zero issues with copyrighted music being used as we do not receive kickbacks or any form of payment for hosting the competition. Additionally, the winners don't get paid commercially for using said copyrighted material as this is more of friends awarding friends money for their editing skill.
It's all about good balance between the frags and the editing (effects, sync..) and no scene does that better than the Quake scene at the moment. Most of the movies we see from games such as CSGO or TF2 are so overedited that you can barely see any frags. That is not what we are looking for in this contest.
Nice!!
I started working on my "Pacus2?" recently and it will be great! Im puting al my love for quake on it <3
shame its only 240s max, I might do 2 movies.
I have no intention to use filler frags, i hate 'em.
My idea was ~2mins of CA CTF TDM , ~2mins of japanese castles only and ~2 mins of fails/lol moments.
We decided on 240s max because we're looking for condensed movies that really focus the editors skills. As Megaman3 already said: it reduces the need for fillers frags and effects.
