I can relate to diabz though. Blasphemy is going on since the last 2 updates and it's truly saddening and infuriating at the same time, if you are a quaker to the core, almost on a religious level.
In the long run, id might lose more players than it acquires - precisely because of the betrayal of the loyal and old-school player base (and the utter ignorance towards them) which kept the title alive for 15 years.

I doubt that newcomers will stay for long. In pub, with this loadout-unified ammo-etc. bs, it's even easier to rape lesser players to other galaxies than before. It's the first day of the Steam release and I already encountered a few "I'm not gonna play this shitty game ever again" comments from brand new accs, after sitting with 1-2 frags and 50 deaths in the utmost bottom of the score tab. They won't find instant gratification here, quite the opposite; instant roflstomp for quite a time - and they will move on to some shiny and easy title. It's not '96-'00 nowadays, when people wouldn't care and just played for the pure sake of it. We have a CoD-BF generation since then.
