Yeah, just go to twitch and hit browse and search for quake live (2 words). Most of the streams I've watched are new steam players.

Another thing I noticed is no one really uses the HMG and most don't pay too much attention to the item timers either, or items in general. The easy strafe jumps aren't a factor either since they are not jumping. So the only thing that's really coming into play for them is the weapon loadouts. Mostly they are choosing rail and shotgun from what I've seen.

shotgun and rail is a great combo for medium/big sized maps.

yep i am watching Blargle_Ragequit, he has basic idea, as he was playing UT, but switching weapons is just something he doesnt do, so yes loadouts do help and unified ammo aswell.

I ve seen mostly are choosing what is default rockets and plasma.

But they are mostly American or they're screen is stuck on awaiting gamestate so its boring ((

I'm actually really glad that there is a resurgence of American players. The servers have been a ghost town here for a while. Now we have players again. I hope they catch the bug and decide to level up!!

I do too, but I don't seem to see the same name twice. I usually tell them to get a feel for weapons in CA to start out (This might change because of loadouts in FFA).

Watching the steam people on Twitch has really reminded me that there is a real person behind the little green robots that we are easily crushing. And they get pissed too. A lot of f words are used.

id should think about paying some popular csgo streamers to try QL and broadcast it. As of yet I haven't seen a stream with over 50 viewers in it besides the one Total Biscuit did.

Like I wrote before, there's quite a lot of Quake veterans who rediscovered QL by the means of Steam.
There's also a fair share of ppl who played Quakes casually and now want to return to QL.
And there's also a huge crowd of totally green players who can't move or shoot well.

I talked - again - to several dudes playing TDM. It appears they're longtime CS/TF players and they go decent rails/good LG tracking. Yet their movement and map control totally sucked. When told to work on their movement and item/map control they were happy that somebody pointed that to them and we talked some more about game dynamics.

They told me that QL has that specific flavor they heard about for years and is a very demanding shooter but they want to play it as they saw some fragmovies and were enchanted by the speed and game experience.

Agreed, in the last week I have also seen some old faces reappear from the q3 days that I haven't seen online in years.
