I really like it. AS a matter of fact i had a similar idea a while ago. I'm pretty sure it would provide nice exciting matches. One eswc cup was played in that Format - it was a duel nations cup.
My idea: what if the Teams would consist of lesser players, there are a lot of ppl below the 1300 elo line. One more experienced player could then teach the Team. Wouldnt that be great? the New players would learn a lot and the coaches pretty much would also have great fun.
For the format : it would prolly be best, if it follows the proleague Format pretty closely, the New one that is, where all kills are impossible. So that the Team as a whole is More important than a star player.
On a pro level nations cup Format could work well i guess to prevent stacked Teams, At least to some degree, but the russians would play togethwr anyways.
Such a Format really would be New and fresh, the community didn't pick up the Format when it was tried first but I think it has great potential. It really could activate players and help them improve while tighten community ties and help develop n

perhaps 1 strong with few noobs can be achieved with a draft concept, but i completely doubt that good players will team up with someone who they don't know, and bad to add to that, instead of their friends in a normal clan league concept.

nations war would be great as well.

if you don't do nations, maybe make some sort of draft system to make the teams, that way you won't end up with team "Top 5 duelers here to take it all"

teams should be draft system, else 102 rape everyone

draft makes sense, but i've no idea if majority would actually want to play out a whole league in a draft team.

Of course, why not? Just define the amount of maps and then:
bo5: get top20/40 duelers, top4/8 of them pick players ->5 men teams play bo5 matches in league/double elim format
bo7: get top28 duelers - top4 of them pick players -> 7 men teams play bo7 matches in league/double elim format
could make it at the beginning of November when noobs play 125fps qualies and good players could play this league in parallel, 1-2 bo5/7 match every day is fine

I'd love to see this on a big stage with a Dota 2 style pick screen like this:

Each player would have an image taken of them before hand and it would populate a space on their teams row when they are picked.

Never going to happen but it would be awesome to watch the picks happening before a bo5. Adds a more team based format which modern esports spectators seem to love.

I see. Well I'd personally prefer a bo5 format, but it can always be put up for a vote. Not too sure about November tho. It's less than a month away and I'll be busy with exams then, but we'll see how it works out.

edit: anyway, I'll update the post with all ideas that I have on my mind a bit later.

duel is more populated but not enough.. Therefore trying to make it fair and so interesting becomes an hard work hardly nobody will ever do

Should do a cup format or point system rather than best of 5. Four players per team, 4 maps per match, ties possible, then do playoffs or a few bo5 for rankings.
