Why do people find it so strange that they actually enforce them?

The forum has tons of negative opinions on changes to the game, it is flat out untrue to claim otherwise.

People that are happy with things don't tend to even bother to find out that a forum exists, product forums are practically always just in the majority havens for complaints due to the nature of people and the internet.
The posts that have action taken against them are the ones that have broken the rules. If that includes the first post and nothing is salvageable then any replies will often get swept up as well, that's just how moderating goes.

It's actually amazing how many people just chose to ignore the fact that their post was strewn with rule breaking expletives when they start to claim their posts were unjustly removed.

write to their forum how great quakelive is. nothing negative about the game. that way they can spend more time in developing the game then censoring forum posts all day.

They didn't specifically refer to the right to free speech (which doesn't actually exist in the UK were the op is posting from, we have a right to freedom of expression instead apparently), but they did claim it was "nazism" and said to contact the person responsible and "give them a shout that this is not acceptable.

For Sasparillo anything that isn't toddler-rated is an insult. I also found out that calling others to quit Quake or proposing playing other games than Quake is something that causes mods to go into red-hot rage. It is also written in the TaC on their website. LOL!

esreality has a policy of censorship as well though they are more concerned not to get politically involved in any way or give the impression of doing so than stopping critics toward games. The Western hysteria regarding racism and xenophobia i.e. hit the site around 2010. You can see quite often such accusations these days. Someone announced all of a sudden around 2010 that "there will be changes regarding the policy of the site" although it is not clear to this day who exactly decided decisively for change -with such silence must be the owners of the site most probably. The censorship started about 4 or 5 years ago in part when the kids of those million of immigrants grew up and then for once many people in the West developed national pride and far right tendencies in lack of any other ideology defending the ethnic constituency of their countries. It is true that the West took immigrants long before that but since abt 2005 to 2010 their number grew considerably to the point they became hardly sustainable to the social systems of these countries and then the demographic factor with all its implications which is a growing danger started to show its fangs as well. At that point the politicians directly as well as through inoculating propaganda entered all public sectors, gaming sites included. Especially companies and enterprises owned by people who are the product of multiculturalism tend more to enforce this censorship.

You can get censored here in two ways: you talk often about the real danger possessed by foreign immigrants or you talk against/attack the moderators of the site or regarding people involved in the community who the moderators see as "famous" or special. If you do both your censorship is 100% assured, totally or partially. Given the fact that this site is hardly non-partial toward certain positions it is quite ironic that you got plusses.
