The widely understood concept is that the eye "refreshes" and loads it's value into the brain.
I was even taught that bs in highschool, just like newtonian physics. Which I now know are not really the way the world works.

Perhaps that your education finaly managed to skip past the pre-war science books and actually teaches correct stuff. But at least everyone older than 30 doesn't know anything other than that frames are analysed in the brain (unless they did their own research).
