mg xhair is like hmg xhair ;)

i use crosshair 3 for mg and hmg because it's better for long range, there's a hole inside the + so that it's better for pixel shots and headshots :) (without zooming, fov 90), when you have to finishing off an opponent with low hp

also in a game like CS:GO the assault rifles got basically crosshair 3 :) and it works the same as the hmg and mg except that there's a bit bigger spread + recoil :)

Btw it's possible to center the rail beam.

well, would get a bit too complicated to center the rail beam in my case, because i would need to add even more cvars to my weapons binds :D

i don't mind it not being centered, not as important as the lg imho. The rail beam only appears once every 1.5secs and some people even hide it :). while the lg beam is basically like 90% of the time on your screen :D
but i like my rail beam effect, it's simple and translucent :D.

It's not that complicated really, I just basically use the "default" q4 and q3 crosshairs.

I mean, if you played q4 you would now that the rl crosshair is 17, plasma 15 and gl 14. Imho it fits the weapons quite nicely and maybe, only maybe :D, it can make your aim for these specific weapons SLIGHTLY better in the long term :)
Also, if you play any other FPS than quake you would notice that, everytime, each weapon has its own crosshair :D, it's even the case for CS:GO where the AWP (sniper rifle) doesn't have the same crosshair than the assault rifles ;)

and even in the army they use different "crosshairs" for each weapons ahah :DDDD

well, when i play on my 1600x900 vs my 1920x1080 which are both 16:9 , my xhair sizes are totally different.. so yeah r_mode does make a difference

Sizes aren't different as far as I recall, more like the shape is slightly off, sometimes a crosshair gets thicker at a smaller size and whatnot.

nop, crosshair 13 is too small imo.

i mean, if you use it with a size >24 it looks so ugly and "blurred" :D at least at 1024x768 resolution.

crosshair 11 is better, it can be used at basically any size and it got better black outline.

and crosshair 2 size 40 is big enough when you're playing with a low fov (<100) and it looks so so clean with nice black outlines (black outlines are nice when you put your crosshair on a bright wall or model). and finally, a "+" is better than a "." because it's easier for the perception of horizontal and vertical axis/abscisis.

also, regarding the color, well, yellow or cyan or magenta or green (if you're not using green enemymodel), or even red at some point, all these colors work well, it's only a matter of personal preference :).

i used to use crosshair 13 size 32 at 640x480 for a couple of years and aimed just fine

yep well, ofc i will use lg mostly, but when you play 4v4 CA and 1v1/2v2 all weapons you're still forced to use basically all the weapons :D

but yeah i will probably use the lg 50%+ of the time and the rest for the others weapons :D
