are there any benefits to run the mouse at 1000hz instead of 500hz ? I'm asking because with the old abyssus you only have 125hz and 1000hz, so yeah, i set it to 1000hz and since it's exactly the same sensor as the new abyssus 2014 i'm wondering if it gets higher malfunction speed if set to 1000hz instead of 500hz (with the abyssus 2014), or better tracking etc... ??

did people report "smoothing" with the DA 2K13 at the default dpi 1800 ? Or did they report smoothing only at certain dpi steps, like 6400 or 800 (non native dpi) ?

DA13 seems to got one of the best sensors. I dont really care about smoothing.

Abyssus 2014 is one of the best mice you can pickup right now. It really improves on the previous shape imo, very lightweight(can even be made lighter if you want by removing an internal weight, but I haven't bothered), sensor is perfect imo with the latest firmware, and the feet are also excellent :) - which often get neglected.

There is no onboard memory on it, and it defaults to 1800 dpi 500hz without synapse. From synapse you can change it to anything you wish, but the settings wont stick after you uninstall. Not really that important, 1800 dpi is the native step, and 500hz is the most stable polling rate anyways. LOD is still really high since it's the same sensor, but tape fix sorts that out easy. Just try to run Firmware Updater. If your firmware is same as updater it will show an information about it.

I didn't have to update Abyssus, i have it for a few days. 1800dpi @ 500hz is default and it best, i heard 1000hz can be unstable. Overall mice is beast, only problem is that i have jitter on QPad CT and Razer Nostromo, on table everything is 100% fine.

Just buy bst's mouse.

You can install Synapse to turn off the light (which I did), but the polling rate is most stable at 500hz and it seemed to reduce performance slightly when I increased it to 1000hz so I wouldn't recommend changing that (although if you want to then the onboard memory will save the hz setting so you don't need to run Synapse).

So, this guy is saying that it remembers the hz setting even after uninstall synapse... Is he wrong ? But if he's right, then i could probably set it to 1000hz in synapse and then uninstall ?

Okay guys so I've read a bit the thread at overclock.net about the abyssus 2014, and they said :

very solid mouse @ 500Hz. Untrustworthy sob at 1000Hz. Running at 2100 DPI. Have had it for about ~4 days.

Prefer the shape over the FK1, prefer the weight over the G502 (which won out between G100S, Func MS3 RC2, and the FK1 and was my goto for a couple months). Looking to replace the G502 now as the mousewheel is very annoying (rattles around). Getting an EC1 on Monday which will have to be pretty good to dethrone this abyssus I think. Still need more time on 500Hz though to make sure the tracking issues I was experiencing was actually the 1kHz and not my pad (G440) or something.

I'll look into the DPI too. My observation is mostly based off of playing aim games (Aim Booster, and this CSGO aim map: http://csgo.gamebanana.com/maps/168139 ). Aim booster I do speed practice at 4 targets/s and try to maintain atleast 90+% accuracy (which I was getting w/ my G502).

I like to do a couple things with the CSGO aim map. First I'm not actually interested in playing CSGO so I have a config I exec that disables recoil and spread and just allows me to test my aim in 3D. Here are the commands for anyone interested in trying the same:

I usually run two modes in the aim map, Classic (Fast Aiming) with default settings except: Amount=100, Delay=0.25, Static tar. duration=0.50. I left off w/ my G502 averaging about 75/100 targets with a best of 87/100.
The other mode I use is Intensive Fast Aiming. Tar. limit=7, Respawn time=0.3, Size=16. I left off with the G502 hitting atleast 100 targets with about 30% of my attempts (pretty spotty on spreadsheet recording here, will do better in future :) ).

So to compare with the abyssus, with 1000Hz in classic I averaged about 50/100 targets with a best of 63/100. With 500Hz my average is 65/100 with a best of 76/100. I haven't done too much intensive aim but what I have done is much much worse than my G502 with both 1kHz and 500Hz; I'll chalk this up to getting used to the mouse though, and in time I'll get better numbers to present if people are interested between 1kHz and 500Hz. Anyway my performance in the aim map getting closer to what I was doing pre-abyssus by just changing the polling rate is making me conclude the 1kHz polling rate is untrustworthy.

Also anyone interested in doing the cso go aim map may should consider, when doing the intensive aim mode, to set the target size to 12 (rather than 16) and up the target limit when starting out. IMO I handicapped myself in the wrong way by increasing target size.

So I just bought an Abyssus Mirror Edition for 25€, but it appears that it is jittering on some parts of my ~6yr old QcK+.

okay, so it's apparently not a mirror edition. it's a RZ01-0036.

The top shell part being glossy makes it the mirror edition, not the pcb version.

So your top shell is glossy but the pcb is the old jittery revision?

Nah, it's not glossy. Apparently people in the stroe put a wrong pricetag on the box.
