- negatively impact the commentary

Do commentary over demo (or vod). Will also give you time to prepare.

(Of course it's easier and less time consuming this way.)

I don't think it's only a matter of less production value, but it's about different content, and different level of accessibility / applicability.

When you analyze the demo, you are much more powerful at analyzing things compared to when you are in game. This often produces overwhelming streams of thoughts and one wonders how the heck can somebody think about all of that while playing.

In reality people do not actively think in those terms, but rather, through that kind of analysis they have develop a number of simple situational rules that they apply very quickly while playing.
This dimension is often lost in demo analysis videos.

The attempt here is to bring the theory closer to the practice and give the kind of reasoning one can easily do while playing. I don't go in depth (and admittedly I ramble and mumble as I need more focus to play - so you are right about the quality drop), but it shows others something that is quite accessible and anybody can think about while playing. Or said in another way: if one guy can think this while speaking it out loud, others can definitely doing it while concentrating.

That you miss the first shot doesn't really matter much. Your dodge to either side is much easier than his will be. Just nail him to the wall with your rl.

Overall you're thinking too much about items and too little about his possition / stack though. Who cares if you miss a shot if you have the advantage you should stay in the fight.

Right, so switching to rail/lg while taking the teleport would help, but other than that?

0:45 - lg/rockets instead of rg. but its rather shady choice, i would use rg aswell.
1:44 - wtf? ever heard of rail?
2:15 - lg maybe? and then u drop down instead of just rapeing him with rg from above :S
2:40 - rg to push him over during jump to ra would be nicer.
3:35 - change to lg after the bounce, he wouldnt hit the ground alive.
4:15 - ur in position that allows for lg pin to the wall. yet you spam rockets.
4:35 - you hear him jumping. easy lg. another moment that can be discussed about.
4:50 again rockets instead of rg
8:30 - why rail instead of lg? i know you didnt want to fall down, but you have position advantage to use lg.
9:00 - go lg. its you who said you prolly have stack advantage, and you had after the rail you hit(crazy play, very random and demon like switch)

obviously anyone can be smart watching the vid, but your rocket over use hurt my eyes.

What you demand is not realistic he would need insane reaction time in a lot of the cases. also noone switches to lg after you hit a perfect first rocket. At ra its possible to push people off with rail but really have to be k1llsen to time the shot right. rocket +rail combo is just fine.

also, even if he didnt push him over with the rail, hitting 2 rails is better than hitting 20dmg rocket and a rail.

At shotgun had he switched to lg the opponent would have been almost on the ground. Yes 2 rails is what you want but its not guaranteed that you hit both cuz of reload. Dealing solid 100 dmg the way he did is fine.

You have way more time to line up the shot i estimate him to do 100dmg 9/10 and doing 160 dmg 6/10.

Also using lg in mega corridor is risky.

ok so I watched the 2nd one while playing a card game....
Even if your audio is crap.... You should be able to follow the opponents location a lot better than that.

He can't just re-appear on the map at random. There are only a limited set of places where he can be. When he's not at some location, that is also valuable knowledge.

You should play a few practise games where you don't try to take any item on time (you should time though) but rather secure the area around the item from the incomming attack. (aka the objective should be to place yourself between the item and the opponent at all times. Where 'between' can be loosely interpreted in a way such that you either deal damage onto him from a possitional advantaged point or you actually block him from getting to the item on time).
It's ok if he can 'pick up some minor items' but all major items should be contested by you yet not through taking the item on time.
