It started in IL, but now in every server my ping is just shooting up. I should ping 18 to VA, instead i'm pinging 135. I've asked around and multiple people are having this issue. What's going on?
No, QL has had some major connectivity issues over the past 48 hours - i experienced it also on 3-Nov, where i couldn't even see USA servers for around 20 minutes, then they started appearing with 100+ pings (i'm in Michigan...should be under 80 anywhere in USA), and after another 15 minutes, went back to normal pings. And other internet connectivity was fine during that period, so i'm pretty sure it's a QL issue, not an ISP issue. Would be nice if there were a standard way of reporting this stuff to QL support (is there some sort of web log i can send?)
Whats this DNS thing dude? - I'm getting bad spikes from time to time - more or less everyday. I've been on the same connection for over 4 years and I've only recently started having problems - like a couple of months tops.
yeah honestly idk what the fuck is the problem. that DNS tricked worked for a little bit, but now I'm having terrible terrible spikes again. it's just gotta be the quake servers or something.
i just love how poverty nations like russia can get 5ms and a smooth connection. yet here i am in "greatest country in all da world" and can't play a fucking 20 year old game with it not lagging all over the fucking place.
Press the button until you get your ping you are used to. There is some weird network prioritization going on in CHI where depending on the port you connect on you get a nerfed connection to the server.
These scumbag hosts are using the cheapest peering possible.
