Right now the differences when it comes to gaming are marginal. It is just that the new Intel socket 2011-3 requires DDR4 ram.

Yeah not even heavy 3D stuff would need that amount i think.
We have 24gb on the workstatoins at work and i never needed more then that but then again i don't sculpt on insanely dense mesh or simulate. i still can't imagine you would need 128gb even then, maybe half?

Servers and the like get spec'd out with 256gb ram+ frequently as space in hosting locations is expensive, more machines in smaller space = savings

I can recommend the Asus Maximus series of motherboards, best I've ever used! The CPU I have is also great. Noctua coollers perform great too, however the NH-D14 is HUGE! Need to make sure it fits inside your case AND passes over the top of your ram. If you check their website they have compatibility lists so it shouldn't be a problem if you check in advance.

For your conveniance, here's what I now run.

Case: Corsair 300r
CPU: i7 4790K @ 4.4ghz
MB: Asus Maximus VII Ranger
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB DDR 2133mhz
GPU: XFX Radeon R9 280X 3GB
Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 cooler
Storage: Crucial 256MB SSD, 1TB internal, 4TB external HDD

I highly recommend an SSD. It's absolutely unbelievable how much faster it is!

I ordered my CPU, motherboard and RAM as a bundle from www.scan.co.uk and my SSD, case, Noctua cooller from www.amazon.de - the GPU came from www.ebay.de for 150 euros (I had a 7850 before this, and for 150 euros it's double the performance).

I have another noctua cooller which I would sell to you if you are interested. It is unused but not in the original packaging.

I want silence over everything

To be honest if you want silence, go with water cooling. I think it's better for you.

Im not sure about watercooling, i dont know exactly how it works but im too paranoid about having liquid next to my cpu. Also the cryorig gets better rated than water cooling alternative (for example H100i)

Actually I was totally wrong about that apparently, air cooling is quieter! I haven't heard about that cooler you mentioned but I guess if it's been recommended by somebody you trust then it should do the job! Is it cheaper or more expensive than the Noctua?

Are you running 1 or 2 fans with the noctua? can you feel any noise at all?

Im considering replacing the stock fans in the R4 case but not sure if worth it.

I use the NH D14 with two fans. My CPU is idle at around 25 degrees and I find it pretty quiet... I was going to buy new fans for my case too but I decided to wait and see how the temps were before I bothered. Turns out it runs cool enough not to worry about it for now. Unless I go hardcore overclock in the future then I can't see any need for it. My CPU runs at 4.4 out of the box so.. More than fast enough for what I need. :)

Around 1k USD. Less if possible tho. Consider I dont need a new case and new GPU. I may add in the SSD tho, but SSDs have still little space to benefit from anything but games, since if I for example use an audio program or editing program, all the data (sound and video) will still be at my huge ass 2TB 7200 rpm HDs.

The boot speed on it's own is incredible! :P

Oh about the MOBO: I was actually considering the Fatal1ty one.. why you ask? well, it's the only one with the ability to run your USB at 500hz without the use of external tricks (currently running on Win 7 on safe mode forever since it's the only way to overlock the USB), so theorically I would be set for a Windows 9 upgrade if it's worth it. The Fatal1ty mobo is the only one that can allow for 500hz in Win 8.1. Not that im going to upgrade from Win 7 anytime soon tho. I see myself using Win 7 until the day it stops being update just like I did with XP..

To be honest if that's the only reason, I'd rather change mouse to one that runs 1000hz or 500hz out of the box. I use zowie EC2 and that was one of the reasons I chose it. I don't know anything about the fatal1ty motherboard though so can't be any more help with that. :)

But like I said before, it's basically only to get 500hz in the future if Win 9 doesn't allow for it. I own like 4 WMOs, I gave up on trying to adapt to other mouses. My only hope is the bst mouse moded in a WMO carcass.

a few C really don't matter much. i'd just get anything from the upper half of that list that's affordable and comes with decent fans can run at very low speeds.
