I got respect for soldiers, even if they fight for stupid ideas, because of duty and an order is an order. Still, there is a lot of brainwashing in any military. So, I dont want to see fault in soldiers, but in politics and bad leaders.

maybe 'cool' word doesnt fit good, but maybe some kind of admiration and respect? For eg. for courage. Like GROM soldiers said hostage life is always more important than a soldier life. And... technology is really impressive.

All I know that every country want to be well armed. Here in Poland there are many voices that we don't need it... really? We live in a place in the world which is not very lucky... and so many times history proved that we live on our own. Nobody will help us in 'hard times'. (probably)

Ok, but its not only Poles fault that they moved to UK in millions. First, you let them. I really understand that quality of these Poles who moved there is probably... low and polish people "in groups" could be really annoying. Still lot of them helped UK with its economy. At least these Poles work harder than muslims etc. and they are more similiar to English people and more easily can assimilate with society.

About that war 75 years ago..., the West countries (incl. UK) sold Poland to soviets and we got 40 years of really low growth... probably nothing personal, just business, like always... Still people should be glad that Poland exists and it was always a wall to defend against eastern hordes. (and yes... Poland is not The East).

...and European Union happened, first with countries on similiar level and than joined some low level countries. Obvious stuff that many people will move because of this. Mistake? Maybe, i dont know. Poor countries markets were tasty cookies for stronger EU members... too.

Still in summary, countries like UK benefited more than poor countries. But that EU socialism, tolerance and stuff is god damn annoying and will lead EU to middle of nowhere... and that idea to build United States of Europe seems to be... so stupid.

Maybe the sarcasm was too subtle. I'm a supporter of gun rights (because I strongly believe in civil rights, personal liberty, mutual trust and responsibility).

Apart from that crime rates and safety correlate to social factors (education, social parity etc). There is (almost) no correlation between gun ownership and crime.
