You didn't understand the context of why those mice are the some of the holy grails. For instance the WMO is used for really old fps games, in which high to mid sens is used (and/or accel), with players using 800x600 resolution and pretty much still stick to that mouse in particular because they are used to it and still works.

I play all games at 1080p, WMO works perfectly fine in any game at my resolution. The only issue I have with it is that I like to use mouse4 as push-to-talk.

your sure you got 500hz? cant imagine the mouse being slow becaus of the 400dpi, i got a wmo, 1.1 and 3.0 and they are great with fast movements with games such as quake live etc.

It should doesn't mean it will. My WMO stops working altogether when I reboot after I've changed the polling rate in "Setup.exe". Disconnecting and reconnecting will produce the usual windows USB out/in sounds but the mouse won't react to movement nor even light up. Connecting it in a different port will get windows to download and install a driver automatically but then obviously, while the mouse then works, it's still at 125 hz (back to defaults in "Setup.exe"). I tried on my USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports to no avail.

Setting your USB port to custom polling rate is only possible on USB 2 ports.

If it indeed does not work after following the 11 steps in there, you need to disable xHCI hand-off in BIOS, however this might make your USB 3.0 ports:

This depends on your motherboard, mine run as 2.0 instead with xHCI hand-off disabled, but the pol rate "hack" works ;)

I think the majority of dota 2 and starcraft players use some tiny ambidextrous mouse that weighs in at around 70 grams at most. sure its personal preference at the end of the day but thats how it is.

I was using the razer deathadder black edition before buying this IME 3.0, the reason I switched was I couldn't feel I was accurate enough to click at creeps, the mouse feels like it accelerates but testing programs show otherwise. I just hated that feeling.

If you use the "MarkC Mouse Fix Builder" you don't need windows sens on 6/11 to get 1-to-1 mouse movement. 400 dpi isn't an issue then, unless you need higher sens than 11/11 in windows.

I use an IME 3.0 myself and that's what I do at least, works for me in Dota 2 with no issues.

Im not sure how acceleration fix and increasing the poll rate will help with the sensisitivty issue. I think the main problem is me not realizing that using 400dpi at 1920x1080 screen is really bad for mid-high sensitivty players.

If you want higher sensitivity in Dota 2 then you can do that with "MarkC Mouse Acceleration Fix Builder". All the info you need is in the links I've posted. I can show you the path but you will have to walk it yourself.

i guess what it means in the description of the markc mousefix is, that you can put the windows sens slider to everything you want, but practically it will stay at 6/11. :P
so you can't change the sens anymore at all in windows, after installing markc.

I use it in Dota 2 with higher than 6/11 sens in windows and I get the same sens in Dota 2.

When you install the mousefix you also get an option to scale your windows sens so it's higher ingame. I haven't tried that so I don't know how well that works though.

it is just impossible to get a software, which allows for a higher cursor speed in those games, without the drawbacks of pixelskipping.

I use 9/11 in windows and I have the same cursor speed in Dota 2 as in windows, it's higher than if I use 6/11. I don't know if pixelskipping is an issue in Dota 2, I didn't install this mousefix specifically for Dota 2.

The OP thought the sens was too low ingame and the mousefix offers an option of scaling windows sens.

with that you get the cursor speed twice as fast, but also with every 2nd pixel skipped at the highest possible setting(same as normal winsens at 8/11).

FK1 has enormous button lag + stiff shell that makes it even worse, those PCBs need to revised, I don't think the Huanos are inherently bad though, it's just that the Huanos are inherently stiff then you have a shell that's ridiculously stiff.

I don't mind Huanos on the AM but they're too stiff on the FK1 due to the shell, also she lag is easily noticable by testing 2 mice side by side and hitting the mouse button hard.

no because the lower the sensitivity//speed/dpi of the mouse the more physical distance you have to move your mouse/arm in order to move a certain distance on screen hence why it requires more effort and why noodle arms are a disadvantage :(

TBH after going back to WMO from DA, thats one of my only cons being the desktop sense and dota2 sense. I also have had problems with WMO and high sensitivity reporting the same jitter in CSGO, this was 400 dpi / 6 sense in game, second i got down to 5 sense it went away.

lol i use a cm mizar@400dpi (shaped like the ime3.0, but slightly smaller) with default windows sens +accel off and i can get from pixel 1 to pixel 1920 without moving my wrist from its fixed position and lifting the mouse, wtf is wrong with you :D

It's just about how much my wrist joint can rotate horizontally without straining. Also I use fingertip grip so the work is distributed between the fingers and the wrist.

My point is that 30cm swipes to get the pointer with default settings @ 400dpi from left to right corner on 1920x1080 is a strong exaturation, my mice (both my mizar and an imo1.1a I got hooked up atm to avoid false test results due to the mizar's hardware accel) do not have to travel more than the length of a wmo which is exactly 12.4cm according to the official technical data sheet by microsoft.

it's more about vertical movement, and if it would be really the best setting at only 400dpi, when you have your wrist rested all the time, even with the most extreme fingertip grip.

ofc when moving the pointer vertically especially when pulling the mouse towards you the wrist naturally moves out of the way but then again vertical movement has nothing to do with whats stated in #47. if anything, diagonal movement would, but that travel distance would still be far less than 30cm. it'd be something like 14cm.

ime 3.0 is a palmgrip mouse tho, and using it with palmgrip, i personally would only reach about half of the 1920 pixels with still comfortable wrist movement alone.

I have two 1200p screens, and using wmo, no accel, 6/11 is no problem at all. I use regular qck mousepad, so nothing extra large, and pretty much never have to lift mouse.
It really is matter of getting used to. 400 dpi is more than enough even for high res 2d use. Just give it a try (at least few days untill you get used to it).

In rts you dont need that much precision, it is lot more about speed and apm.
In starcraft broodwar all koreans used some shitty logitech mini mice, which have bad sensor that skips easily. But very high sens makes it irrelevant.

As pvh pointed out, most surf players utilize key binds for smooth strafing. The evidence is in the video itself: no pauses mid-strafe that would occur by lifting and repositioning the mouse.

As far as OP regretting getting an IME. Well, that's not anyone's fault but his, especially not the mouse's fault. The information is out there. It's considered one of the best in the FPS community - if you are not comfortable with 400/450cpi at 1920x1080p, then don't buy a mouse that is limited to 400/450cpi. Then he is also using it at 125Hz. He should inform himself better next time.

updated to 500hz/1000hz. I didnt notice any difference at all, not sure what the trouble was for considering I had to scour all over the internet to fix the problem with overclocking in newer PCs.

I had to disable xHCI in BIOS and format my whole computer to windows 7. Took me a few hours and those are the hours I won't get back.

Yes, many surfers do utilize binds for any prolonged turn. They do not use them when they are connected to a ramp, you can't be precise enough. The video I sent you, I'm 99% sure he (as well as just about every surfer) does not use a bind to turn right, only left.
