Final Mouse

Got one of those today and I thought I would share some impressions.

Uses the same OEM shell as the Motospeed MNV-2 (http://i.imgur.com/XzXtlvM.jpg). They did redesign the PCB as you can see from that. The rubber side for your thumb feels like crap. The right side has this very pronounced lip which isn’t great for the way I grip my mouse. The middle of my ring finger is basically rest on the protruding lip. The scroll wheel feels great – I think it uses an alps encoder like some Roccat and CM mice but don’t quote me on this because I didn't actually tear down this mouse. The clicks are nice. Side buttons are clunky.

It’s very lightweight. Uses ADNS 3310 sensor but only has 4 DPI settings (400, 800, 1600, 3200). Kind of capping the sensor here since the 3310 is supposed to have better “native” settings. Enotus results are fine – max speed of 7.6 m/s at 400 dpi on enotus. From some quick testing, the DPI settings don’t seem to be exactly as is stated, though. The variance is quite bad once you start using 1600 and 3200 DPI. No serious gamer games at those DPIs so whatever. Also locked at 500hz polling rate. Tracks well for me, I don’t feel any of that smoothing people like to whine about.

Bit of a tough sell if they’re actually going for $60 USD. No mouse is really ever worth it’s MSRP but realistically with this kind of OEM feel and look – and I mean once you peel off that bottom sticker and see that motospeed logo, you’re going to sell around 30 bucks.
