But a bit more ontopic: I wouldn't want an online cup to be equivalent to a lan win. I think LAN conditions and pressure is too different to online cups.

I'm not a fan of Wickland but those numbers just make me sad :(
There's people pouring their harts out on this, they all have wishes, plans, goals.

Seeing a total of 20 players being interested in the game you work so hard on is depressing.

I really like Wickland and I play with friends so the somewhat empty servers dont bother me, but damn do I feel bad for the devs. They seem like nice guys too.

The latest tourney had like 50 people watching on ashs stream (probably there for ash, not the game) and 9 people watching on the official stream.

Thats a punch in the balls for any dev

It was in a bundlestars sale, and I wanted to try it, it looks pretty, but it has no single player component, and what's the point if only 3 people worldwide on, couldn't justify the £2.50 even :(

Yeah, but at least they actually managed to make a good game (compared to a lot of the other Greenligh tat). It's a starting point for their next project. Pretty good outcome all things considered.

30, 31 October and 1 November will be Storm 16. If we can get the necessary hardware and a prizepool there, we're good to go. Everything else is taken care of. If anyone wants to help out in that regards, let me know.


Storm 15 is 27 to 29 March, so that's just around the corner and too late to get something going for it. It'll be duel BYOC with hardware prizes probably.

At this point the only way we're gonna have a proper LAN is completely community driven, like the Prague one.
