Bind buttons like this:

One is for switching between display modes for the ELO output (say it in chat or just echo to console etc). The other is for doing the fetching+display


2) No, but you can view your friends-list from the in-game menu (click the little guy, top right). You can see where they are playing. Make sure you add a lot of players in your ELO-range to friends. This is a good way to check other servers while in-game.

3) Yes. Create an autoexec.cfg (might need to be write protected, can't remember) and only put a single line in there:
exec "appalachy.cfg" or whatever your cfg is named.

4) Not sure how to do it from menus, but from the console: /demo demofilename.dm_90

Yes.

the console in QL has autocompletion for cvars, mapnames and demo files. This means that if you want to type "calllvote map campgrounds", you can type "callv" (maybe even less), press tab to have the game write "callvote" from that, then write map, then write "camp" and press tab, and it will then write "campgrounds" for you. If there are multiple cvars available from the bit you wrote, the console will display them in a list. I.e. wirting "cg_" and then tab will show a list of all cvars that begin with "cg_". there's also partial autocompletion, so if you wanna write "cg_lightningstyle", you can type "cg_ligh", and the game will write "cg_lightning" for you and show a list of cvars that begin with that, e.g. cg_lighningImpact, cg_lightningImpactCap, and cg_lightningstyle. Add an s to "cg_lightning", press tab, and you got yourself cg_lightningstyle.
And again, this works for demo files too (obviously only those in your baseq3/demos folder). I also think there's a a way to change the standard demo naming scheme. You could change it so that it starts with the date of the game played, then you could write "2015-01-05" in console and press tab, and the game would give you a list with all demos from that day. If the next part in the name is the gametype, you could e.g. search for all duels, or all FFAs, etc. from that day.

Just first sentence would be enough for me to understand :) But no it's not applicable for demos, at least my ql has no respond.

I don't want to change my demo naming format though, the way it is now is super easy to find the demo I want as it contains all the dates and stuff, just as you said.

CTRL-C / CTRL-V works in the console.

Also, how can I change crosshaircolor? It's set on 13 atm and it's black but when I put different value nothing happens, even after vid_restard. I want somewhat turquoise probably but if it's possible to customize, i'd prefer it more. Also, adjusting color in games options does not make any impact at all too.

Your cg_crosshairbrightness is zero? (default is 0.85)

Finally found someone else that uses this, this is so amazingly useful. I always just fill in my info in the morning and leave up the tab all day and press f5 when I want to find a game.

No need for clicking every game to check the elo + I can find games in Russia as well which don't show up on the normal server browser for me.

3) Watching demos

It's well hidden in the UI:
- click the Settings icon (cog) in the upper right corner.
- select Game Settings
- choose DEMOS
- select one from the list and click Play Demo

A note if you use extraQL and the script to automatically switch to/from fullscreen: You need to manually switch to fullscreen before starting the demo, otherwise QL will crash. Or you temporarily disable the script through Userscripts / AutoExec.
